The kids loved the show. He even spent extra time with the group and took them to see some sunny seals. I bought the tickets but was too lazy to go - sent my son-in-law with t he grandchildren. I live on a boat in Southwest Harbor Maine for the summer and will recommend this trip to anyone who visits with children. Thanks!!

Diver Ed and Captain Evil provide an entertaining as well as educational view of the sea life found on the bottom of Frenchman's Bay. It's a fun trip for both children and adults. We've taken the trip twice and can't wait to do it again.

The Best Adventure for Kids in Bar Harbor

Diver Ed is just great with kids. Both he and his wife, Captain Evil, couldn't be nicer. The boat is smaller than the big whale watching boats (at max it can probably take 50 people) which makes for a much more personal experience that kids will love. I have two daughters, 4 and 5, and they both had a great time touching the animals that Diver Ed collects from the bottom of the sea -- he only brings aboard kid-friendly animals -- sea cucumbers, scallops, hermit crabs, sand dollars -- even a small lobster that was maybe 6 inches, small enough for a small child to touch and hold. The animals are all released at the end. Diver Ed has a wonderful sense of humor and just had us all laughing the whole trip. And, you have to love the vessel and the man's experience -- the boat, the Starfish Enterprise, is brand new and just beautiful -- even the head was nicer than most of the restrooms in town. And, Ed is the former harbor master and dives for scallops in the winter -- he knows these waters very well. My husband and I were first concerned how the trip would go because we had a rather obnoxious tourist on board -- just loud, pushy, and inconsiderate. Without making anyone uncomfortable, he was able to put this person in their place with humour and the trip was very enjoyable as a result -- that's a professional for you! The only, and I mean only, difficult part was the parking and finding the meeting location. If they could have given us a few landmarks to follow (like meet infront of the whale skull) it would have been easier. Overall, two thumbs up for parents and expecially kids between 4 and 14.

My daughter (11) loved this trip! We did too! Diver Ed is so much fun, he and his wife are so knowledgeable on marine life, we all learned a lot! I don't think my active 3 year old could have handled a 3 hour tour, but think it would be great for kids 5 and up! Looking forward to taking my niece with us next year!

A fantastic educational fun trip 4 all ages!!!!!!!

This was an experience that we'll never forget! From the moment we boarded the dock to the moment we got off the boat, we were highly entertained AND educated by DIver Ed and his wife, Captain Evil. They not only entertained our children, ages 14, 13 and 11, but me and my husband as well. My 13 and 14 y/o boys were belly laughing! Now that's a feat in itself considering they wanted to listen to their Ipods and play PSP instead. My daughter has not stopped talking about Diver Ed and mini Diver ED (You need to take the trip to understand). One minute we were just cruising out and the next the boat was on a goose chase to spot the marine life a customer spotted! Diver Ed suited up in his diving gear and had the kids push him overboard. Within minutes he was 100 feet below us with a video camera showing us everything that he could see while his wife narrrarated on board. He was able to catch lobsters, several star fish, hermit crabs, sea cucumbers, and sea urchins and bring them up on board. Of course he did have a helper...you have to take the trip to understand. My husband and I laughed the entire time he was under! All of the sea life was brought up onboard for viewing, touching, holding, squirting and learning. Wear your warm and old clothes! We took this tour at the beginning of our vacation in Bar Harbour and my daughter was able to participate and answer questions about what she learned here on another tour we did in southern Maine at the end of our vacation!! Now that's education at it's best! Thanks for the memories and a great time!!

A GREAT Time

The Dive In Theater is a great Experience. We saw much more on Diver Ed's boat the Starfish Enterprise than we did on the whale watching boat. The Dive In Theater was the most enjoyable activity we did on our trip to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, Maine.

This was our second time, the first when the kids were younger and they never stopped talking about the experience. They are 14 and 17 now and insisted we go again. They just love watching the underwater experience live. We'll do it again when we visit Bar Harbor in the future. Diver Ed gets pretty siily with the kids so if that's not your thing then it's probably not for you. If you enjoy getting silly with your kids then I highly recommend it. Very educational in a fun way.

The Dive-In Theater with Diver Ed was one of the highlights of our trip to Bar Harbor. Great experience for young and old. Diver Ed had the family in stitches. He and is crew mixed humor with education. It was like Jacque Cousteu morphed with Bill Murray. The underwater camera action was fantastic.

We took our three kids (son 13 and daughters 10 and 7) on Diver Ed's 2 hr. tour. They LOVED it, and so did we! Diver Ed and Captain Evil are entertaining AND very informative - they make learning interactive and fun!! Heavy duty hands-on touching of the creatures collected. Even though the harbor was fogged in the morning we went it didn't seem to detract from the trip - kind of neat being lost in the mist. I would recommend it to adults without kids as well. Diver Ed's sense of humor is off the wall, but he is also a smart guy with a lot of knowledge he willingly shares. GO!!!

We have seen Diver Ed twice and we will be back. Diver Ed and Captain Evil are outstanding! What a way to introduce a live "aquarium" from the ocean.

Diver Ed provides you with lots of details. We were able to see seals and an Eagle. Once we were anchored and watching the screen and seeing things in the bottom of the ocean was cool.

Diver Ed was recommended by our friends who live locally in Maine. We have two small boys (ages 3 1/2 and 5 1/2) and needed something that would entertain us and them while visiting the Bar Harbor region. Time frame (2-3 hours) was ideal, price was reasonable, parking was free and even the weather cooperated for our adventure. New boat kept us covered and dry. Diver Ed was endlessly entertaining..catering especially to the small children. Our kids enjoyed seeing and touching all the creatures Diver Ed found at the bottom sea.

Diver Ed's show is not to be missed!

My kids (ages 3 and 5) were enthralled with Diver Ed and his sidekicks, Captain Evil and Mini Ed. They laughed hysterically during Diver Ed's antics, and they learned a great deal about ocean life along the way. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the show as well, and we were impressed with Diver Ed's ability to connect with the kids while teaching them the importance of respecting and understanding ocean life. I would recommend this event to any of my friends, and we will certainly be return guests next year during our week in Acadia. Diver Ed's show is not to be missed!
