Diver Ed

We participated on an evening cruise in August. Diver Ed is hysterically funny, and he is great with children. Mini Ed, the Newfoundlands, touching the "catch", and the spectacular sunset were just a few of the highlights. Don't miss it!

A terrific tour of underwater Maine. Between "mini-Ed" fighting a lobster or kissing a starfish, we all loved this tour. A chance to learn about the marine environment and have some good laughs along the way.

Our group consisted of myself, my husband, our two boys (8 and 10 yrs old), and my husband's sister and her husband. Diver Ed made sure to introduce himself to every person on the boat - kids and adults. He had fun with the kids, made the adults laugh, too. He and Captain Evil were sure to include educational information about the marine life we saw. We had previously attended a National Park led Beyond the Beach and had learned many of the things Diver Ed and Captain Evil shared with us. We struggled with choosing which boating option to take - whale watch, schooner ship, etc - and all of us agreed we made the right choice!

This was a great family experience and our son is 17 yrs. old. However, other younger kids on the trip were also very actively involved, entertained and educated. Diver Ed and Captain Evil (his wife) were great. Very knowledgable and personable. Diver Ed is a trip; very funny and entertaining for all ages. Ranger Eleanor was also a great addition and served to add many interesting and educational facts to the trip. Technology was wonderful and added so much to the experience. All in all, great and highly recommended!

Diver Ed and his crew made every effort to provise a great experience for all of the children on the trip. It felt like your own personal boat ride with all of the attention that the crew gave to the kids and the families. A must do adventure if traveling to Maine with children.

Diver Ed was one of the main highlights of our trip to Bar Harbor. I have a 5- and 7-year old, and they both loved it. Highly recommended.

if you have kids, do not miss this outing....they're still talking about it. the kids had so much fun, they didn't realize they were actually learning something. and retaining what was taught.

DiverEd and his team were a true hit with our family. We laughed and learned in a beautiful setting. It is a must for families with kids. The best 2 hours on a boat in a long time.

This is a wonderful experience for kids, including enthusiastic grown-ups. The crew, consisting of Diver Ed and Captain Evil (and, of course, Mini Ed #95) was hilarious. All sorts of fascinating and mildly disgusting animals were brought up from the sea floor for us to handle. They also had a very high tech camera so we could see what Diver Ed and Mini Ed were doing under water. I would write more but some things should be left as a surprise. Book in advance, as Diver Ed is wicked popular!

Just go! Diver Ed and his wife put together a great way for everyone to explore the local sea creatures both above and below the water in a way that is unique. We had a great time.

Diver Ed, Captain Evil (his wife) and Mini Ed were very fun. We took the morning cruise thinking the water would be calm. Turns out we were wrong. One of our two children can be a little nervous on the water but that wasn't the case with Diver Ed and his crew which kept everyone (including the adults) well entertained. If you are looking for an activity for the family involving some boating and underwater adventure and education this is a must. You won't be disappointed.

This was our first visit to Maine, and feel that our visit would not have been complete without Diver Ed's Dive-In Theater. Our children loved everything about the experience- the boat ride, Diver Ed, the under-water camera, and of course the animal treasures. We, the parents, found everything equally as entertaining and educational. Thanks, Diver Ed and Captain Evil and the crew for a wonderful time and a terrific experience that our kids won't forget!

This was one of the best events we did all week during our visit to Mt Desert Island and Acadia. It was a top notch activity that was highly recomended, and it still surpassed my expctations. They rteally involve and engage the kids. The only complaint I have is that there was construction which made the directions hard to follow. When I called the people at Zerve, they basically washed their hands of me. Furtunately the people at Diver Ed's Dive-in theater were wonderful and helpful.

If you have kids, you need to take the Diver Ed trip. We all had such a fabulous time. Ed & his crew were great with the kids, and the whole trip was fun & informative. It was seriously the highlight of our trip to Acadia (which had no shortage of highlights). Highly recommended!!
