A very cool and fun educational trip
Fri, Mar 8  9:00 AM JHaggerty Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
I had a very diverse group--families, couples old and young--i went alone while my husband was at a business meeting--met a great family whose kids were extremely engaged during the whole trip--they were a lot of fun and invited me to join in the activities--the tour guides were awesome and spoke to many interesting facets of the barrier islands--including the birdlife, trees and other flora--also shared interesting facts about dolphins while we waited to sight one--saw some dolphins on our way out and back--in fact there was a group of dolphins who followed the boat on our way back--the guides took amazing photos and developed right on the boat so we all got to take some home as mementos--shelling on the beach was great--lots and lots and lots of shells to find! overall very fun, entertaining and educational for anyone who loves nature--i highly recommend

The crew was great. They were very knowledgeable and were very considerate. The captain made sure to go slow and circle the area dolphins were in order for everyone to have a chance to see them and take pictures. We were glad we chose to go in the morning. It started to get hot as we were returning.

Learned something and enjoyed ourselves.

The Captain and his marine biologist first mate were knowledgeable, friendly and seemed to be enjoying themselves as well. They were equally pleased to discuss dolphin ecology with the adults or to help two little girls fill in their dolphin count clipboards. A delightful way to spend a morning- and we had the added satisfaction of adding a data point or two to the ongoing dolphin study.

Fantastic!

Capt. Chris and Kent were incredible hosts and full of educational and interesting information. We saw more than 20 dolphins (up close), stingrays, a manatee and a wide selection of birds. The 35-45 minute visit to a pristine secluded beach was phenomonal and we found a wide variety of shells. We took the half-day tour (in the morning) and it was the best $54 per person we ever spent on entertainment. This was an incredible adventure for both young and old and I'd recommend it to everyone. We will DEFINITELY do it again on our next visit. This is a MUST DO activity for your family!

Beautiful sunny day, we learned about the habits of the dolphins, learned how to identify the dolphins living in the area, saw a baby with its mother. Very informative and inter-active for children. We asked lots of questions, and were not disappointed. We also saw lots of the birds native to the area, and identifed those as well.

Learned things I didn't know before about FL

We enjoyed this family outing with our 11yo daughter. Saw about 10 dolphins, various birds & found some great shells & sand dollars. The 3 hrs. flew by. Very informative & a great learning experience for all ages. I have already mentioned it to friends who live in SW FL that might be looking for something enjoyable to do. Cant' wait to tell more friends about this. Would do this again in a heartbeat!

Good Trip

We certainly had no shortage of Dolphin sightings...this trip was very good for that. When I read the description of the trip, I did however feel that I was going to learn a great deal more than I did about Dolphins. The boat has no PA system, therefore hearing the information is diufficult. Having a baby, we were put at the back of the boat, which is fine, but then the guide had to come back and repeat himself...a 3 minute lesson up front turned into a 1 minute lesson when repeated. By positioning the trip as us being involved in an ongoing marine study, I just assumed that there would be more information pertaining to the Dolphin, the habitat etc...Providing guests with print outs of the pictures taken is a GREAT touch, and left us with a few additional memories above and beyond our pictures. We were happy to see that the tour did not try and charge for the pictures, shell bags etc...Overall we did enjoy the trip, it was just different than the description.

My wife and I really enjoyed this tour. The captain and naturist were both very friendly and informative. We saw several dolphins in different locations as well as a number of manatee, osprey and other wildlife. Any question we asked was answered and we felt like they were happy to have us aboard. There was a family with young kids on the boat with us and they had activities that catered to them and kept them excited and involved. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely do it again.

I really enjoy the Dolphin Eco Tour!

I went on the Dolphin Tour last year and liked it so much, I brought my adult children (aged 21 and 23) to take the tour this year. They both loved getting fairly close to them and trying to identify which dolphins we were seeing. We learned some Interesting information about dolphins (as well as some local birds) that we never knew before. Love when the dolphins swim very close to the boat or play in its wake as we are cruising along. The stop at Keewaydin for shelling is always fun, too! Sometimes it's hard to take a good action picture with a digital camera, so it is much appreciated to get copies of pictures as souvenirs! Just an overall great time!
