I really enjoyed this trip - even though we didn't see as much dolphin activity as I had expected. Don't get me wrong, we saw many dolphins and a few even came up to the boat. But it is a different experience from seeing pods of dolphins in open water. Here the groups are smaller - mostly pairs and trios. Ken was very informative, with a great sense of humor. We learned not only about the dolphins, but also about the birds and the mangroves. On our trip the real star was shelling on Keewaydin Island. Because of the recent weather, there were mountains of shells. It was phenomenal! It was great to participate in identifying the dolphins - we were provided with books which cataloged the dolphins and Ken would print off pictures for us to compare. It's a unique opportunity to participate in a dolphin study and not just be passive observers. Ken had a digital SLR and was able to get some great close-ups of the dolphins and an osprey. He printed out copies for us along with a picture of us on the beach. All in all a wonderful trip - very relaxing and informative. Highly recommended.

Me and my fiance had a blast. we saw over 12 dolphins and tons of birds.The beach we stopped at was great and took back many shells even got a starfish. The captain took his time and slowed down when we saw the dolphins some even came right up to the boat. I would recommend this tour to everyone!!!!

It is a well organized Tour with a Captain who runs the boat nice and smooth. The young guide knows a lot about the animals in the water and the air and he is pleased to answer all questions to him. His explanations about dolphins, birds and the nature in general is very understandable and it is a great pleasure to listen.

It was great to involve the kids with identifying the dolphins, they loved it. The beach where we collected shells was awesome. Great trip.

I have gone on this tour twice with each of my children and grandchildren and both times the trip was informative and an enjoyable experience. Identifying the dolphins, using the pictures taken by Kent was a big hit with the grandchildren. Everyone enjoyed walking on a deserted beach and looking for unique shells.

This would be a great trip for a family. Knowledgeable naturalist and Skipper. You will learn not only about the dolphin, but other wildlife and some local history. Maybe the only downside is too much time spent on the beach (which was also very nice and uncrowded).

The excursion was absolutely fantastic. James, the researcher, was so knowledgeable and friendly. He shared lots of background information and history regarding the area. He also was nice enough to give us some photos to take home of some of the wildlife. We really enjoyed the island beach and all of the shells that we collected. I would highly recommend this tour over any of the others. We also went on the Manatee tour and the airboat ride. This one was by far the best.

The guides were great guys and we had a fun experience. They were very knowledgable and we came across a lot of dolphin activity. The island we stopped on was beautiful and my wife had a great time with all the shells she found. It was a great time all around and worth every penny.

Very interesting and entertaining. Went with several small children (2 yrs old) and they loved it. Saw lots of wildlife in addition to dolphins and the shelling on the beach an added bonus and was excellent. Would recommend this highly.

We decided to do a dolphin cruise while we took our most recent trip to Florida (Nov 2010). We stayed on Marco Island (after arriving via Miami) and had our (almost) 3 yr old son with us. We were very happy we chose the Dolphin Explorer cruise. The captain and tour guide were very knowledgeable, and extremely friendly. There was also kid friendly information provided, along with a special gift at the end of the tour. While we explored an outlying beach for shells, we had a family picture taken (one of few we seem to get) and the print was given to us at the end of the tour, at no additional cost. When we visit the area again, I would love to go on this cruise again. The sight of seeing dolphins jumping out of the waves right next to the boat is truly priceless.

We had the best time! We saw dolphins and many birds. The staff was helpful, professional and personable. We made memories that will last a lifetime! Thanks so much!!

I learned so much more than I thought I knew about dolphin.

my husband and daughter and her husband had a great trip out on the Dolphin Cruise. the two staff with us were, entertaining and knowledgeable about the wild life we saw. they took time if we saw any Dolphins and spent time watching them play. there was no rush to get us from A to B and back. the stop on the island for shelling was aslo fun , finding lots of conch that had been washed up unexpectedly. fabulous views from a wonderful white beach and not crowded. the kids on board had agreat time spotting dolphins with their clip boards and ticking off what they saw. we will bw back with our grand children next time they are with us in naples as they will have fun and so will we again. great way to spend 3 hours of your holiday, sea, sun and entertainment what more could you want. thanks for a great trip.

A great experience for the whole family! I'll never forget the look on my 6-year-old grandson's face when a dolphin jumped out of the water just a few feet from the boat. He was in awe! We loved shelling along the beautiful beach. My 2-year-old granddaughter was especially proud of her treasures. Our tour guide and captain were both fun and knowledgeable, and we really appreciated the photos they took and gave to us as keepsakes. This trip is a must for anyone visiting Marco Island!
