Door County Trolley

The trolley picked us up promply and was on time the whole day. Got to see some great places and country side. The trolley driver was very personable and fun to be with. The trolley driver really enjoyed his job and the people. We can't wait to try another tour and visit Door County!

We took our fun with us since a group of friends took this trip. However, here are my observations about how the Trolley Company and businesses we stopped at affected our trip. We stopped at three wineries before lunch including Simon Creek, Harbor Ridge, and Lautenbach's. Wine is a very individual thing so I am not going to comment on the wines. I will add, however, that we bought a case of wine at the winery which was most generous with their tastings. I am not sure whether there was a correlation or not. The tasting counter staff at each location was friendly and attentive. I was a little surprised that no exceptional tastings were occurring. I was expecting to be offered a glass of wine somewhere for the $60 per person we paid for the trip. I imagined that the Trolley Company was giving each winery a fee, but apparently that was not the case except perhaps for the Lautenbach's sleigh ride? The sleigh ride was very enjoyable since the day was moderate and blankets were provided. The sleigh driver told us a lot about the orchards and the history of the property which was very interesting. Lunch was at the Bailey's Harbor Fish Market. We were offered soup and a sandwich or salad and a sandwich. The food was tasty although not exceptional; the service was good. (The sandwich was ham and cheese on toast with green apple slices. The soup was vegetable beef.) The coffee was very good - at least we all thought so. A simple dessert was included - a cold apple crisp with whipped cream. I would have skipped that, but I am sure some people appreciated it. On the way back to our stop at the Door County Coffee & Tea we stopped at Coyote Roadhouse for a "quick one." This was not on our itinerary as far as we knew, but we were happy to be there. Our trolley guide did not say much except just before Simon Creek about the history of that property and Al Capone's offer to purchase it. We expected he would act more the travel guide. Since we are familiar with Door County that did not matter much to us. The trolley was comfortable in every way. The driver seemed safe and courteous. He played music that we enjoyed, turned it up regularly to foster the party mood of most of our group. The man behind us was singing at times - and he sang well. Overall this was a lot of fun.

The tour consisted of a variety of "activities" around a select area of Door County directed by the guide. The guide helped to bring a diverse group of people together through info., humor and music/singing. My husband and I enjoyed every aspect; we especially liked the group sleigh ride. (If you want to hear the informative part of the ride then get in early and sit near the driver.) The group camaraderie was great :) Not associated with the tour was an option to take a private sleigh ride through the woods for an additional fee. Loved that ride!

Wasn't quite sure what to expect of the day... pleasantly surprised! AJ, our tour guide was fun and light hearted keeping things interesting. Relaxing day, fun group of people and enjoyable tasting and shopping for wine, food and gifts. Sleigh ride was fun & Lunch was excellent!!

Wonderful tour experience and A.J. was an awesome tour guide. Very funny and went out of his way to make sure we all had a great time. Well worth the cost and I would recommend this to anyone visting Door County during the off season.

My husband and I had a Great time with the group going to three different wineries. You had time to try several wines and have a look at the different wines that you had wanted to purchase. Lunch was delicious--the sleigh ride was a BLAST-and our guide was full of a lot of information. He would tell us interesting things about the areas we drove through. Excellent job A.J.!

I would recommend this to everyone 21 and older. It was a great way to spend the day. Visiting 3 wineries with a short ride in between. Each one was unique in its own way so I'm glad we went to all three. The sleigh ride was a nice stroll through the orchards and was a nice change of pace. Lunch was at a cozy little place and the food was very good. I give a lot of props to the driver. The trip wouldn't have been as fun without him. He was very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. We were with a lot of fun people on the tour which makes the trip fun also.

We had a very nice time. Weather was great for the sleigh ride. Would love to see a shopping/lunch/one winery tour. Some of my friends have never done the shops of Door County and I would love to share that with them. I plan to do another Trolley Tour with my husband in the future.

We had a great time on your Winter Wonderland Tour, the weather couldn't have been better, well unless it was 80 degrees in March in Wisconsin. The wineries were alot of fun, as was the lunch at the English Inn. We especially enjoyed our driver, Todd, he was very informative and just a great guy to talk to. We are a group of medical people, that all got together to enjoy some time together outside of work, and boy did we enjoy. I would highly recommend your tour to anyone who asked. I have handed out your brochour to a few people already. I would like to come back with my husband for a more romantic get away. Thanks again! Linda

This was a lot of fun. I went with 3 other ladies and we had a blast. Our driver, Todd was a hoot! We enjoyed all our stops and the ride. A great value - transportation, wine tasting and lunch all for a low price. We will take this trolley tour again!

We took this tour as a part of our girlfriend's get-away. I would highly recommend it. The stops at the wineries were great. Fun to check out the cheese store next to one of them. Given plenty of time to wine taste and look around. Very nice of them to collect all of our purchases and hand them out at the end. Lunch at the English Inn was really good. The sleigh ride was a lot of fun. Very beautiful and guide was fun and informative. Our trolley guide was super nice and fun. Will definitely try to do this again sometime.

My husband and I both loved the trolley ride. Our tour guide A.J. was the best. He was informative, down to earth and made us laugh. The wineries were nice and the sleigh ride was really fun. I highly recommend to everyone to do this. We will be going on some of the other tours.

this tour was fantastic. our trolley driver was funny, informative, extra nice...i could go on. we visited 3 wineries, had a great fireside lunch and a sweet sleigh ride. i have already recommended this to friends, and will continue to do so. it was a highlight of our weekend getaway

We decided to spend a weekend in Door County, to celebrate our anniversary. At the recommendation of our son, we booked the "Winter Wonderland" trolley tour & sleigh ride. From pick-up to drop-off, it was a wonderful time. We enjoyed the interesting facts and humor from our tour guide, A.J.. He kept our trolley entertained for hours. The wineries & shops we stopped at were a real treat, & we enjoyed a special lunch at The Emglish Inn. We would definitely recommend the Winter Wonderland tour to others.
