A great way to get a fun overview of Portland

The tour provided a nice blend of history and interesting facts about Portland, blended with some fun for kids to enjoy. Dropping into Casco Bay adds a little excitement and provides a great view of the City and the ocean. The tour guide was knowledegable and funny. A good, solid hour -- not too short and not too long.

September 2011 Duck Tour

Rode the duck with 3 additional family members. All of us enjoyed it greatly. We saw something of Portland including the Civil War Monument, Firefighters Monument, Parks, Longfellow house and other points of interest in Portland itself. Then we went into the harbor with a big splash and rode around a bit. Saw the ferries running in and out to the islands, and the lighthouses in the distance. There was a nice view back at the parks and the city itself. It was a very full 1 hour tour mixing humor with points of interest.

Wicked cool idea to use a land/sea vehicle to tour the city of Portland, ME. Derrick, the tour guide, was fantastic. If you do nothing else on your visit, take the Duck Tour!

This is the second time we have done the tour with out of town guests. It was lots of fun and very informational. We learn something new each time and both my children throughly enjoyed it.

I had a friends family visiting from NYC. The kids loved the idea of taking a 'bus' that goes in the water. The trip is fun, the 'crew' keeps the passengers engaged and interacts with them rather than just giving a 'scripted' tour. Even the people on land and sea get to be part of the tour - QUACK QUACK!! :-)

Entertaining and educational

The duck excursion was awesome! It was an educational experience with alot of humor. We are from Portland but learned alot about the city and restaurants that we were unaware of. Our "tour guide" had such a great sense of humor that he really made for a fantastic tour of the city! I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting or local that wants an hour of fun and laughs..while learning a bit about Portland!! Thanks we had a blast!! --sue, bob, paddy, and nina

The Duck Tour exceeded our expectations! Our tour host was really fun! He had just the right knack with humor without going too far! He also was full of interesting facts throughout the tour- historical, pointing out great restaurants, and reciting poetry of local poets!

We had such a great time on this tour. It was a rainy day yet the tour guide still made it fun and entertaining. Our children are ages 4 and 9 and they had a great time. We highly recommend this to anyone.
