It was a very interesting tour of Portland. He did explain the history behind the city. The fires, sugar, logo- Phoenix. The foodlisest city in America. Having the most restaurantts in the USA. I did enjoy when the boast went into the water and seeing the seals, cruise ships, and boats. I do recommend anyone to take this tour.
Thank you,
Debra Travis |

We had never been to Portland, Maine and on a Duck Tour before, so it was a novel experience. The tour had a local (born and raised) guide who works as Librarian during rest of year that made for an awesome combination as he could not only talk about historic places but good food joints and some local slang.
This city does not boast of assortment of places to see and being the only available DuckTour in the city, I would still say that this Ducktour is worth taking. |

This was a terrific experience. We had never done it before but took visiting relatives from NYC who also loved it.
Wonderful experience for all. Such a delight and truly gave us all the opportunity to learn more about the history of Portland.
Best in your future endeavers

We enjoyed the duck tour as it gave us a real look at Portland and an understanding of its history and different areas. The guide was humourous and entertaining and kept the adults and children on board and on the pavement in good spirits with some quacking good jokes.
Although this was not our first trip to Portland it was our first duck tour and I now feel I know my way around the city much better. My only criticism was that the time in the water seemed fairly short and didn't actually go anywhere. It would be nice to enter the water in one place cruise along and then exit in a different part of the city. |

The entire boat was filled with children and we were an older crowd of 8. The tour guide was being silly to entertain the children. There was a little bit of history on this tour of the Portland area, but mostly they pointed out a couple of landmarks & restaurants.
The Casco Bay cruise to Bailey Island was a lot more tour for the money, but it was all ocean waters of Portland, nothing within the city.
The duckboat is a good first tour in the city, and anybody who has never been to Portland will enjoy it. |

It's a silly thing and very "touristy", which we do not usually do, but it turned out to be great fun. Derek was a genial and funny, self-deprecating guide to all things "Pahtland" - a wicked good tour! |

Enjoyed the tour and information. We were all "locals" - from southern Maine, but it was fun to learn some new tidbits about Portland. Our guide was very good. Nice wit. Nice interaction. Knowledgable.
Some tips.... maybe could have pointed out the ferry and cruiseship terminal, told more history about Portland's waterfront. It was fun going into the water, but do wish we could have seen a bit more instead of staying in the marina area. The trip was booked as a 70 minute trip and we were back in 55. That was OK for us, but perhaps should be looked at to stay true to value.
We will (and have) certainly recommend the tour. So happy Portland has its own duck tour! |
