Activity Description
The Whole Shebang is FOOT!’s flagship and most popular romp through the city. Winding through three unique San Francisco neighborhoods, this comprehensive tour includes everything but the kitchen sink (sold separately). Play games, answer questions, and take part in other informative and fun silliness.
Starting on exclusive Nob Hill, then heading down to the famous shopping district of Union Square, this tour discusses the early history that developed the city's one-of-a-kind personality.
Next, head to the back alleys of America's largest Chinatown. Take in the sights, sounds, and smells (good, bad, and otherwise) of the city's oldest neighborhood—and visit a fortune cookie factory, too. From there it’s only a few steps to North Beach, heart of the Italian community and long-time headquarters for the Beats.
The Whole Shebang includes the following historical highlights:
- The Gold Rush, the Silver Rush, and the Rushing Railroad
- Painted ladies (these are buildings) and tainted ladies (these are well-built)
- Cable cars and historic bars
- The Great Earthquake and Fire of 1906
The tour ends within a few blocks of dozens of restaurants, coffee shops and other places where you can take in the sights of one of the world’s most distinctive cities.
What Is Not Included?
Meals are not included in the price of the Whole Shebang tour, but we often stop mid-way for a coffee or snack! Be sure to bring extra cash with you if you're interested in this, and we'll stop if the group is interested.
Gratuities are not included but are always appreciated.
