Just had arrived in San Fran on the last leg of travelling across the US and took the opportunity of doing the walk of the Castro with Kim on my second day ..what an informative, educational, moving and funny tour ! I felt so comfortable in the group who were v friendly also and also gave me some local tips which helped. I was able to revisit some of the places later that week which was a bonus knowing where I was going to incl Harvey milk plaza, camera shop, pink triangle memorial and the murals Overall a highly entertaining tour and a great host to match

An Amazing Way to See the City!
Sat, May 25  11:00 AM lornamy Female 30-39 International Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
Robert- My partner and I LOVED our tours over the weekend! We were fortunate enough to have Kurt for both tours and he was fabulous. So great. Fun, informative, helpful, funny and professional. We both agreed that the tours were a highlight of our time in San Francisco and I will be recommending them to any friends or colleagues planning a trip from Canada to San Fran! Thank you again and huge thanks to Kurt as well.

good tour and good value
Thu, May 23  10:00 AM keithaustin Male 70+ Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
Our guide, Kurt was great. A good overview of that part of SF. I'd recommend two changes: 1. start at 930 so it ends at a more reasonable lunch time 2. at the end, be helpful if he recommended places to eat. We had only 5 on our tour and 3 or us from Union Sq....so we climbed up to the top of he hill...only to walk back down....maybe a way to fine tune the stsrting point???? you knew where we were staying..... and his recommendation for House of Nanking for dinner was right on, plus the elevator from St. Mary's Sq. to Chinatown.......who knew?

Lack luster tour guide. Not the fun promoted

Not sure if the guide had had a hard night before, but he was somewhat boring and prone to memory lapses. I don't consider acting out roles to be fun - my expectation was that the guide provided the fun - through commentary content and delivery.

Fun, funny and educational tour

We LOVED our tour of the Castro! My husband and I were in SF for the first part of our honeymoon and this was one of our outings. We really enjoyed our guide, he was funny and entertaining and had some great stories. We really enjoyed learning more about "our" history in a fun way. The tour overall was just great, lots of fun, laughs, trivia, and so on. It was nice that our group was diverse too, it helped make the experience and I could see how it would be great exposure for folks who aren't exposed to the culture much or at all. I would highly recommend it to anyone local or visiting.

Time well spent...
Sat, May 4  2:00 PM mmrm0223 Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
Our well informed guide took us through the vibrant Castro district and through its amazing history. Our group was an eclectic and fun mix of straight, gay, single and coupled. I believe everyone came away learning a few things and feeling their time and money were well spent. No matter where you are on life's journey, "Come Out to the Castro" is a journey you should take!

Improved our experience of San Francisco
Mon, Apr 29  3:30 PM louishaynes Male 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
My partner and I visited San Francisco for the first time just a couple of days ago. Our experience of the city was not particularly great and we were a bit disillusioned by it. Doing the Castro tour really turned out trip around. Kim, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable and really put the area's history into perspective, which allowed my partner and I to really appreciate the significance of the Castro and of San Francisco in the context of LGBT history. Also, note being able to make one of the regularly scheduled tours, they were able to accommodate our schedule and allowed us to book a tour on a day they don't normally have the tour. We highly recommend this tour.

I would pay more money for more value
Mon, Apr 8  11:00 AM lgyorgy Male 50-59 International Tourist(s) Individual
I am fan of walking tours. Attended lots of good ones in the US and Europe. This wasn't one of them. Stories are too general, superficious. Talking about the gold rush in general...? Details that one remembers were missing. Has a short "expiry date".

Highly recommended tour of Haight-Ashbury
Fri, Mar 15  11:00 AM Rhaggstrom Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Our tour leader Kurt was amiable and knowledgeable. He was quite familiar with the Haight's history and architecture, and the area's importance in the social movements of the 1960's. In particular, he focused on San Francisco's role in the development of rock music. My niece, a young Grateful Dead fan, described the tour as "awesome." This is a term she uses quite frequently, but I do think she really liked it. My only recommendation is that Kurt should figure out how to get his i-pod off of the shuffle mode. I'm not one to criticize, however-- I've had the same problem.

Locals Enjoyed Learning About Their Home
Mon, Jan 21  1:00 PM DrMcGovern Female 50-59 Local Couple on a Date
We are long-time local residents yet learned so very much on this tour - we had a great time with "Tom" whose wit & knowledge were very entertaining. We'd highly recommend this tour not only for tourists, or for entertaining out-of-town guests, but for anyone wanting to know more about the place we call home.
