Too expensive, too crowded, bad food quality

Our guide was quite knowledgeable, a show-off but polite individual. On the Sunday we took the tour the Chelsea market was too crowded which made moving around as a group difficult. We were disappointed with the quality of the food. Everything was just packed with calories, nothing was healthy. Besides, on the times we were sitting to try food there was never enough chairs for everybody in our group. I have done already the tour on the West Village and it was much, much better in terms of information about the neighborhood, the food and the quality of the whole experience . Honestly, I do not recommend the Chelsea Market- Meat packing area to any one. You can find all the information the guide provided in any guide of NY. So, go by yourself to the Chelsea Market, the Highland Park, choose your own food and save the tip to the waiter in a good restaurant.

This is my second tour and they do not disappoint. The food is great and you get to try small servings from many different places. It was definitely enough for dinner for myself. The best part is the combination of all the history the guide gives you with the food tour. Well worth it.

Our tour guide, Cindy, was both knowledgeable and entertaining! We enjoyed all the food samples and the information she gave us about Chelsea Market and the surrounding area. We certainly did not need a meal after sampling all the good food on the tour. I would highly recommend this tour and hope to experience one of the other food tours on my next visit.

I was so impressed with this tour. Kirk, our tour guide was fantastic. He had a names memorized and was very animated, funny and quite informative about the history and food of the Chelsea Market and Meatpacking District. I highly recommend this tour and can't wait to come back and try another. Terri from Ponte Vedra Beach Florida

Darryl was an excellent guide. I knew from the minute we met Darryl, he'd be an excellent guide. He was so informative, gave lots of information and history on the Chelsea area. He memorized in about 2 seconds all 15 tourist's name. That was quiet amazing.

The Chelsea market food tour went way beyond our expectations. Our guide Darrell was amazing and supportive of everyone trying new things. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy teaching us and feeding us. The food was delicious and every vendor made us feel welcome. I was especially surprised by the historical knowledge Darrel had of all things Meatpacking district. He really knows his stuff! Thanks for a terrific tour! We will definitely be taking another tour with Foods of New York tours!

last year we did the original Greenwich village tour and loved it on Veterans Day, liked being outside and it was lovely out that day nor was it crowded. We went on Monday which was Columbus Day and Chelsea Market was packed. Bob, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the area. But there was way too much food (can't believe I am saying that!) After the second stop with the fritatta or quiche, which was extremely filling, we then went a few doors down and had cheese, a piece of panini and a tuck, like a beef pot pie. That was just the beginning of the afternoon. But we loved the tour and the food although I started just taking one bit and also love the highline and planning on going back.
