I can't stop talking about this tour! A great food tasting and tour of the Chelsea market, including the history of the Meat packing district, the NBC building and the Market itself. The tastings were ample, the businesses that participated welcomed the group and it was well planned and organized. Wear comfy shoes, there are limited bathrooms in the Chelsea market and there were lines, so use the facilities before the tour starts. The tour ends a few blocks away form the Chelsea market, and there is not time to shop during the tour, we walked back to shop at several of the merchants we sampled.

Great Time: Informative, Fun & Delicious

Our Guide, Darrell, was extremely knowledgable about the history of the area and led us on a very pleasurable tour. There is not a ton of walking, with very few stairs, so most people should be able to enjoy the full experience. The merchants in Chelsea Market were very accomodating and good-natured. It is a very nice way to start off a day, if you are touring the city. Done by 1 or 2pm leaves plenty of time to enjoy more of the town. All of the "tastings" we had were great, wish we could have taken some of the food home. The Market is definitely worth the trip if you are a local.

A hidden "jewel" in New York City!

My husband, 19 year old college daughter, and I signed up for the Chelsea Market Food Tour wondering if we'd just be told about different food providers in the market. This was true, but the tour turned out to be so much more than we expected. Bob, our tour guide, is involved in so many activities in New York City which gave him incredible background to share. We loved the tour, and this would be one of the first things we would recommend to any of our friends going to the city. There are all the usual New York City sites to see, but this, by far was one of the neatest things we did!

This food tour was my 3rd location and it was equally as wonderful as the last two. Our tour guide, Diana was full of life and such a pleasure to be with. She was very knowledgeable about Chelsea Market and the meat district and had a great sense of humor!
