Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour

We really enjoyed our Chelsea Food tour. The tour is primarily indoors which makes it great when weather can be an issue. The Chelsea Market is a bustling, wonderful place that really packs the people in on a Sunday! The history of the area and the history of the building was fascinating as well. Our tour guide, Diana, was knowledgeable but I wouldn't describe her as personable. She was all business which was a little off-putting plus some of the information she shared about the area was TMI. Otherwise, the tour and the food tasting was 5 stars all the way!

The Chelsea Market tour was lots of fun and very interesting. Diana was a great guide who had a lot of funny stories of how the Market came to be; and it's not as old as you would think! If you have always heard of Chelsea Market but didn't actually know what it is, you must do this tour.

The tour leader was very informative and the variety of places we visited were enjoyed by everyone in my group. I would highly recommend this tour and will book another food tasting tour the next time I'm in NY.

My wife and I really enjoyed it. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We learned a lot about the history of the market and the meatpacking district. The tasting were great. Also liked the fact we were able to go inside of Del Posto and Morimoto.

I was looking for a fun birthday activity for a friend who is a self-proclaimed "foodie". The tour was perfect in all ways...the food was delicious, the guide (Darryl) was charmingly informative and entertaining, and the history of the area was very interesting. We visited a wide variety of venues and tasted a little bit of everything...seafood chowder, baked goods, sweets, pasta, antipasto selections, dairy, etc. We toured the interior of the market but were lucky to venture outside as well and tour a bit of the neighborhood, a local restaurant and the HIgh Line. We shopped along the way and went home with some terrific bread, cheese, olive oil and kitchen gadgets. It was a fantastic day...a creative spin on taking a friend to lunch for her birthday!

I've been on other food tours in other areas, and I was very impressed with our tour in NYC. Our guide, Curt, was personable, informative and entertaining. It's so refreshing to find someone who truly enjoys their job and is good at it! The Chelsea Market & Meatpacking District tour was a nice variety and provided an intimate view of an area of Manhattan I may not have chosen to visit on my own. I would highly recommend the tour to others and will likely do another similar tour should I return to NYC.

This was one of the most fun things I have yet to do in the city. My best friend suggested this. Due to frequent trips to Little Italy, the Chelsea Market tour was the best option for me. I would definitely even go on this tour again. The guide was awesome. I have recommended this to friends traveling to the city.

This is a wonderful way to learn more about New York and one of it's best assets: the fantastic food!

Loved the Chelsea tour. Darrel was the best. Very informative, personable and fun! He made sure to have alternatives for my vegetarian daughter. I learned a lot about the area and will be returning on my own. These tours give tourists the courage to venture out solo after learning about an area. The time just flew by! Lots of great food along the way! Highly recommend.

Tour guide was terrific! Derral was entertaining and very informative as to the history of Chelsea Market and the Meat Packing district. Loved the food samples. Highly recommend this activity.
