Snacking our way through charming Chelsea Market

This was my second food tour and both times I have had Kurt as our guide. He sets the tone for an informative and wonderfully entertaining snacking tour of New York City neighborhoods from past to present day. Chelsea Market is an amazing place that should not be missed! It was a wet, blustery day so being inside for most of the tour was perfect. From chocolate milk and cupcakes to mini meat pies - every bite was amazing. A walk along the High Line helped the digestion before the final tasting of the day in the Meatpacking District. The history surrounding this pocket of the city and it's transformation into one of today's coolest neighborhoods in New York , makes for a fascinating, tasty and fun day.

Darrell was such a great tour guide -- we have been on his tour several times and it never gets old. He knows something about everything (it seemed like). My mother is in her late 70's and she thoroughly enjoyed the tour also. You have to go on his tour! It's Great!!

It was very crowded. There really was not much food for tasting. We were all hungry after the tour. I was was extremely disappointed and do not recommend this particular tour.

A great way to learn more about areas of New York ! Our guide, Darrel, was so much fun and full of entertaining anecdotes. We had a tasty sampling of foods from the Chelsea Market and enjoyed the whole experience.

This was a very fun tour. The food was excellent and our tour guide, Darrell, was very knowledgable and personable. He made it so much fun. We are all former New Yorkers and were thrilled with the tour. It was great learning about the history of the area and what's happened in the last 15+ years to make it a totally different place than it was when we lived in NY.

Informative, but not for true foodies
Mon, May 5  2:00 PM susanb3333 Female 50-59 International Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
We enjoyed the tour and the guide was informative about the area and the stores and restaurants. However, there was not as much food content and information, particularly in terms of behind the scenes and exclusive access to chefs and restaurants, as we had expected. In many instances we could probably have sampled much of the food on our own simply by wandering through Chelsea Markets. So, as a guided tour on Chelsea and the Meatpacking District, yes the tour ticked all the boxes. If you are a true foodie looking for insights on food and dining in New York this is probably not the tour to take.
