We met our guide, Bob, inside the Chelsea Market & took us past/into a variety of businesses. We had a little sample at each one on his list & I wondered if this would really fill us. However, by the end, I felt like I had enough to consider it a lunch plus more. Bob was very entertaining telling us about each business & the history of the Chelsea Market & the meatpacking district. His personality was what really made the tour.
I expected a lot more walking & for me that was a little disappointing since I love to walk. I thought we'd cover much more of the neighborhood. My mistake on that assumption since I wasn't aware the Chelsea Market is not an area but a building. That factor would be a plus if you are going in the cold weather or if it is not a nice day. The second part of the tour did involve more walking out on the street, with Bob giving information about various buildings, tenants, and history. He was a wealth of information, interesting, and witty.
At our last stop we visited a restaurant that had a table set for us in the back. We each had a small plate of very good pasta with meat sauce. It also provided us with a little time to talk to others on the tour in a relaxed atmosphere.
All in all it was an enjoyable day out. Our tour started at 10:00 a.m., which is early for a food tour. Later times were not available. I was concerned I would not feel like sampling foods at such an early hour but we started with a mini cupcake, then a little milk, and from there it appeared no one, including me, had trouble sampling anything else.
I certainly would consider trying another one of this company's tours. |

The variety of food inside the market was great - lots of different experiences. Almost all of the tour is indoors, so if someone wants to experience, NYC outside, the Greenwich Village Tour might be a better choice. Our guide was funny, friendly, and very entertaining. |

This was our third food tour and we brought friends for their first tour. We're all food lovers and the Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District tour did not disappoint! Who knew that the Oreo was created right here in New York and that the High-Line existed?!? What a great way to spend an afternoon ... you'd never know that you were in Manhattan! We look forward to expanding our group for our next visit to another a new neighborhood of NYC. Our tour guide, Bob, was informative and showed a real love for his role as a tour-guide - a great ambassador of NYC. Thank you, Bob! |

Our tour of the Chelsea Market and Meatpacking District took us primarily through Chelsea Market with a detailed history of the area and interesting anecdotes about the merchants- previous and current. We had an enthusiastic and animated tour guide (Darryl) who clearly enjoys interacting with people and imparting his knowledge of the area. We were a group of six (four twenty-somethings and two fifty-somethings) and all agreed that the selection of sampled foods was perfect- enough contrast in flavors and food groups to make everyone happy. This was our third walking food tour with this company which clearly indicates our satisfaction with the tours. |

The Chelsea Market tour was headed up by a funny and informative tour guide (Bob) who introduced us to a section of NYC that we had never considered visiting but will certainly return to in the near future. Loved the short walk on the Highline, the historical tidbits, humorous stories and the food, glorious food!! Our friends loved the experience and have already told other friends to take a tour. Worth every penny! Looking forward to the next one. |

everyone in our group loved this tour. I would never have imagined there was so much to see and experience inside this location. We enjoyed the food and will definitely come back to visit each vendor, our only issue was that the market closed too early for us to return on Sunday! |

We really enjoyed our Chelsea Food tour. The tour is primarily indoors which makes it great when weather can be an issue. The Chelsea Market is a bustling, wonderful place that really packs the people in on a Sunday! The history of the area and the history of the building was fascinating as well. Our tour guide, Diana, was knowledgeable but I wouldn't describe her as personable. She was all business which was a little off-putting plus some of the information she shared about the area was TMI. Otherwise, the tour and the food tasting was 5 stars all the way! |
