A great way to see a different part of NYC

My friends and I would never had made it to Chelsea Market without this tour. Be prepared to be on your feet for 3 hours. The tour guide was extremely knowledgable and friendly. All of the food was wonderful. Can you say "Red velvet cupcakes" - what a great way to start.

Excellent Tour

This is the third tour my sister and I have taken. We took the other two tours because we loved the first one so much. On the second and third tour, we were accompanied by friends who loved the tours just as much as we did. The tour guides were terrific. They were so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The guides gave us the history of the areas visited and information about the places we stopped for food. And the food was delicious. The tour guides also gave us information about the restaurants in the area. All in all, very interesting. We got to see areas of New York we might never have know about.

I have coordinated numerous small group tours for my friends over the last 5 years. Of all the food tours we've done, this was, by far, the most entertaining and enjoyable. The tour guide, Kurt, was clearly well-trained, knowledgeable and quick-witted. His humor and extensive knowledge, as well as the prosaic manner in which he described foods and their preparation, made him the best guide I have had the pleasure of being led by. In addition, the food choices were outstanding, as were the portions, variety, and taste. Despite having done other tours of certain areas in NYC, we plan to do ALL of your tours going forward, and we wish we could have Kurt as our guide on all of them!

We were a group of 6 women celebrating a college reunion in the big apple. The tour guide was wonderful, knowledgeable and charming! We learned all about the history of the locations and sampled delicious food along the way. We were joined with a group of women celebrating an upcoming wedding and surprising the bride to be. They were a great match for us. I (we) highly reccommend this tour to everyone!!

Along with 8 friends, we booked a tour for our friends Batchelorette party (this was how we started the day). Bob was our tour guide, and was very knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend him! The one complaint all of us had was the sequencing of the tasting. I understand logistically why it was done this way, but we all felt a little ill...We started with delicious red velvet cupcakes at Elenis, then had some yummy chocolate milk (Ronny Dairy). Then, we moved onto the fish market for creamy soups. After, we went to Buon Italia for some delicious meats, cheeses, olives and onions. After that, we walked around a little and finished with some delicious Italian food. The history of Manhattan is so interesting, and a lot of people aren't familiar with everything that has changed and affected our city today, dating back to the 1600's. My friends and I can't wait to take another tour!

We enjoyed ourselves tremendously on the tour. The food was great, the history imparted by our tour guide was invaluable and our guide himself was hilarious. He talked the entire 4 hours and had us all in stitches and personalized the tour by repeating all of our names throughout the tour and speaking directly to us. I cant wait to return to NYC and do a different tour.

Fun but not much food tasting.

I really enjoyed it and our guide was really knowledgeable about both surroundings and food. I did however expect that we should visit more popular restaurants and that all restaurants would include tasting, but the tour was mostly inside Chelsea market and tasting only on a few of the restaurants.

Tasty Food and Tantilizing Commentary

From red velvet cupcake to pasta with oxtail marinara sauce, the Chelsea Market/Meat Packing Tour was a delightful experience. Our host, Bob, was enthusiastic, charming and most knowledgeable about the history of the market, the area and the High Line. We feel like we have a connection with the neighborhood and a working knowledge of the shops, people and activities in this exciting part of New York. We will definitely will come back to eat and buy in the area and will look forward to taking other food tours. This was a highlight of our trip from Texas.
