I take a tour every time I go to NYC...once a month or so....with goal of getting to neighborhoods off the beaten tourist path. I enjoyed the tour leader and the Chelsea Market area, will definetely go back for to the area on my next trip to the City.

Emeril's "Live" show on the Food Channel piqued my interest in the Chelsea Market, when the TV Studio moved in above the market and various vendors were showcased. Four female family members (three generations) helped me celebrate my 75th BD in New York. My Tucsonian daughter-in-law, the "activity planner", asked me what I most wanted to see and I replied, "The Chelsea Market". By the next day, she had found your tour on the internet and booked our group for what was a highlight of our brief visit. Todd is a wonderful guide. He has a pleasant personality, is easy to hear and understand in the busy market and is so very knowledgeable. You can tell that he thoroughly enjoys what he does. The tour of this huge old block-sized building, with its history as the Nabisco Baking Company and the story of its recent development into a multi-use facility is fascinating. The vendors themselves as well as the very generous tastings are terrific. The tour of the Meatpacking District was educational and amazing! This is a neighborhood going through a huge transition, propelled by the Chelsea Market and other new ventures. With 25 meat packing plants left of the more than 100 previously operating there and the cleanup of a number of unsavory and notorious activities, it is becoming a safe and enjoyable place to shop, dine and stay. Todd's extensive knowledge of the history of the area made it all come alive. I especially had great fun poking my head inside the Hogs and Heifers to see the bras hanging on the antlers above the bar and hearing the female bartenders use their bullhorn to "welcome Grandma inside".

My group enjoyed this tour immensely. Our tour guide, Bob, was very informative as well as fun. This is a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. I highly recommend this tour for anyone including children over the age of 12. The food was delicious the history interesting and the views magnificant from the high line. What more could you ask for? We can't wait to try the other food tours.

| This was a great way to learn about the foods of NYC and gain an appreciation for the history of this district. Our guide was well informed, easy to understand and even humorous at times. Looking forward to returning to Chelsea Market to spend more time to shop.
My recommendation: save the cookie until the end so you don't ruin your appetite for all the other goodies you will eat along the way. |

My boyfriend and I live in New York City. We moved here this summer. We took the Greenwich Village tour a few months ago and loved that. The Meatpacking Tour was everything we expected and more. Great guide and fantastic food! Highly recommended!

We enjoyed the tour in the meatpacking district. It was interesting to hear the history of the meatpackers and the area and see the changes that are occuring with the influx of shops, bars etc. The Chelsea Market is historically also fascinating and a great concept of food shopping.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour through the Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District. Our guide was very entertaining, and knowledgeable. We had samples to enjoy along the way and enough venues to keep the tour interesting.

I booked this tour for an out of the ordinary valentine's day gift and talked another couple into joining us. It was a big hit. Now all four of us are planning to do the other tours together on a regular basis. We absolutely loved the experience. Cindy was lots of fun and incredibly knowledgeable. We never would have noticed most of what we saw at the Chelsea Market or appreciated the building without Cindy. The tastings were delicious and we returned after the tour and bought lots of great food for dinner. We will definitely be returning there to eat and shop. Learning about the restaurants, architecture, history etc. of the meat market was also very interesting. It turned out to be a great choice of a tour because it was extremely cold and most of it took place indoors. I highly recommend this experience to all of you New Yorkers out there who don't realize how much you are missing out learning about . Become a tourist in your own city and eat while you learn!

Our guide Darryl was knowledgable and well prepared. A friend recommended this tour to me and I have, in turn, recommended it to others.
