We took this tour having already done Greenich Village and SoHo in the past but with no idea of the Chelsea Area or the Meat Packing districts. We had an outstanding guide, Daryl. Our group had never been in this area. We loved the history and the tastings. We were very impressed. Dinner that evening became Postos. An additional place our guide brought us. We ordered the tasting dinner. We also returned to the Chelsea Market after the tour and shopped. Who would have believed, this is the future fashion area. The designers are moving in!!!! Highly recommend this tour.

Great guide - mostly food

This was primarily a foodie event. As long as one is hungry, it was a worthwhile experience. Our particular guide was also very good in bringing up some "exotic" details about locations in the area. I get the impression that the knowledge he shared was based more on his personal interests and his own initiative, rather than informaiton that would be found in a standard tour. I feel very fortunate we had him, since his angle on many of these things was a lot of fun. We'll try other tours as well, at least for the food.

Excellent New York Experience!

Our guide, Darrell, was very engaged in the tour and seemed like he was really enjoying himself. He also made sure we enjoyed ourselves by providing us with a brief history of the Chelsea Market and helpful culinary commentary and delicious food samplings. My husband and I were able to experience this area of New York in a way that we would not have on our own. I also feel like the price was reasonable, unlike a lot of other things in New York!

I read about these tours in a magazine a few years ago and wanted to try one - I am so pleased I did - got lots of food samples and our guide Darrel was fun - he showed us some top class restaurants and the high line and explained lots about the area showed us the nice and seedy side of things - good way to spend a few hours in New York, you can only do so much shopping! - I even think next visit I could persuade my husband to go on one with me - no small task -

The best way to see the Chelsea Market!!

What a great way to get a sample from virtually place in the Chelsea Market and learn about the history, as well. Other people in the Market were just kind of wandering around deciding where to have lunch. Why decide? My cousin was with me and she has lived in NYC for the last 8 years. She learned a lot on the tour, and saw things that she hadn't before. I'm sure the other tours are just as good. I can't wait to try them.

We joined this tour - my family (wife, 2 girls 12 and 14) and two friends (2 old guys my age) with the idea that we would learn a bit about Chelsea area and enjoy some food rain or shine. Well we did - and plenty more. The history, the assortment of foods to everyone's taste, the great tour guide who kept all of us interested - he remebered everyone's name, and sprinkled with fashion and city character that really was unique to this area of NYC. We ALL enjoyed the experience - this was really an inexpensive and enjoyable event. Well worth the while. After the tour, we went back to explore some more and we knew exactly what we wanted to do! Thanks and Cheers. FrankP

This tour was recommended by a colleague and we were very grateful they passed it on. Such a unique way of visiting and being involved Manhattan life!! The food in New York was something I wasn't expecting to be my highlight of the trip but after being within the Chelsea market and area you get a great idea of the food culture and understand why New York has some of the best meals in the world.. Our tour guide was entertaining and vibrate, which also helps to excite the group for the full tour.

We were served a great mix (cookie, soup, tapas, chocolate, bisquit, icecream, pasta) of great foodand an interesting history lesson from an enthusiastic guide. First tasting was a large cookie, would have saved it for last if we had the chance. We were happily surprised to get a walk on the highline, a place we had asked around for but nobody seemed to know where it was.
