My 13 year old son and I had a fabulous experience eating our way through Chelsea Market and touring the High Line Park and learning about the history of the Meat Packing District. My son was so enthused with the experience he insisted we return to the market and shop the stores we visited on the tour. I also heard him recommend to friends the wonderful restaurant where we had a tasting. This was my second Chelsea Market tour and I would not hesitate to take a third!

My girlfriend and I were in town for a play and decided to take the Chelsea Market tour the following day. We were thrilled to have had the opportunity to meet our tour guide Kurt. He was entertaining, energetic, funny and made the tour a very enjoyable experience. We would both highly recommend this tour to anyone. Thank you Kurt.

Great Time!

I live just outside NYC and my mom who was visiting from Philly wanted to do something different! This was so fantastic - great food, interesting history and amazingly entertaining guide named Curt! He was so funny and engaging. He kept everyone happy despite the heat. He even went "beyond the call of duty" and made arrangements for a birthday dessert for me at our last stop. I thought my mom asked the restaurant host but it was our tour guide who did! I would recommend this tour (and I'm guessing the others are great too!) to anyone regardless of whether you are local or not. Certainly book it if you have a friend or family member visiting from out of town. You cannot go wrong. I did hear from some of the reviews that there wasn't enough food but that is so not the case. My mom and I were totally stuffed and quite satiated. Thank you for the really fun time!

My 2 friends and I were in New York from Canada to celebrate our 40th birthdays. Among the activities in which we partook during our 4 day stay in Manhattan, this tour was by far our favourite and most reasonably priced. Our guide Diana was immensely interesting and we learned so much about the history of not only the meatpacking district, but New York in general. The food we sampled was delicious and visiting Chelsea Market was an extremely cool experience. We were pleased when the tour extended from the market to visit among other places Highline Park, the famous Morimoto Sushi Restaurant and Macelleria, the wonderful little Italian restaurant where our tour ended. We will highly recommend this to any of our friends visiting New York and we would even consider doing the same tour again with our husbands when we return to New York, hopefully in the not-so-distant future. :)

How could you not like this fun tour, full of information and full of food. Bob our tour guide was very pleasant, a bit hurried at times. I think the group makes or breaks the tour our group was ok somewhat quiet and did not interact much. My only suggestion would be to reverse the order and start by the outside area and end up in the market. I would have liked to shop more inside and never had the opportunity to return to the market when tour was over. started out with the sweets and ended with the big meal. Overall it was fun and i would be in for other tours.

Overall, we enjoyed the tour. My mother and I travelled from Bucks County, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia via the train. We thought the guide (Curt(sp)) was sensational; he was enthusiastic, animated, knowledgeable and seemed to know the owners and their commitment to their products. He provided a history of the market and its evolution. It was really interesting. We learned about the neighborhood and the food. We learned why there are greenhouse windows in the market and how not all baby carrots are baby carrots. And, why we shouldn't order the special - I always did?!?. He knew everyone's name, where they were from so as to make the information targeted for each person. The tour moves quickly so if you want to linger this is not for you. It's an overview, so you can go back and get what you want ... probably with a coupon.

Great History of the Area and Great Food Tastings

Curt was a great guide who was very informative and entertaining. He knew all of our names and where we were from within the first 5 minutes. The tour was way more informative than I expected with all of the history of the Chelsea Market and Meat Packing District. I am from Brooklyn, but did not know that area well and it was nice to learn so much. The food was great! We got to sample so many different types of food and it was all delicious! My only recommendation is to pace yourself with eating because it is more food than I expected. I would highly recommend this tour! I am looking forward to taking the Food Tour in the Village!

Came across these food tours by accident. They had great reviews and since we were on a family trip, we were looking for something other than the typical 'bus tours'. We were interested in seeing Chelsea Market anyways so we thought this would be a good way to actually see the Market and the area. Our tour guide, Curt, was fabulous. He knew the names of all 16 of us before the tour even began. I had some specific food allergies and I told Curt that he didn't need to make any special accommodations for, but he did anyways, and I was really appreciative. We walked through High Line and ended with a delicious taste test in the Meat Packing District. Curt even arranged for a Happy Birthday treat for my daughter. I would definitely add this to your to do list.
