Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone ! We had a great tour and Darryl (the guide) was fantastic - funny and knowlegable about the area and the foods we were sampling. The foods we tasted were delicious and varied; we didn't need lunch after the tour - and not a great deal for dinner either ! The tour represented great value for money and took us to places that were not as tourist heavy as other places we've been. 10/10 for Darryl and his tour !!

This tour delivers two knockout punches - an interesting overview of the Chelsea area, both from an historical persepctive and then it's current state, and second, some amazing tastings from shops primarily in the market, but also the surrounding area. This is not a Food Network tour, but you may spot some Food Network personalities, as they film many shows upstairs in their studios above the market place.

We enjoyed learning about the history of Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District. Diana "banana" was great and very enthusiastic. The food tasting did provide a taste (tip) of the market definitely wanting more! We actually went back to The Lobster Place to try the different soups!! We really enjoyed the last stop at Macelleria - the Garganelli, oxtail ragu was unbelievable!!!

really enjoyed the tour the Guide was so enthusiastic and the 3 hours passed very quickly, the food tasting was superb quality. and i will recomend anyone going to NYC to do the tour.

Having already seen the major tourist attractions in NYC, we were looking for something off the beaten path. We usually like to explore places on our own and don't gravitate towards guided tours, but we decided to take a chance on this one based on the great reviews. We had a great time on this tour. Our tourguide, Curt, was gregarious and entertaining. He kept us in stitches for the whole 3 hours. The food samples weren't the most interesting or exotic, but the food became secondary to the experience of learning about Chelsea Market, the Meat Packing District, and food preparation. I didn't expect the tour to be as informative as it was and was pleasantly surprised. I can't wait to go back to Chelsea Market again. I enthusiastically recommend this tour to anyone who wants a fun way to learn about this neighborhood of NYC.

This was an UNBELIEVABLE tour! Kurt did a phenomenal job. He made it fun and interesting, his humor, his inside tips - how many times did he say "we're going for a quick bite, then a snack, and then we'll get something to eat? The food was fantastic, his humor had me in stiches! We went to the Market about 45 minutes early and looked/shopped before the tour began - so when the tour started, we were happy to go back through the shops and learn more about them. Being from out of town and a first time visitor, the Chelsea Market is a foodie's dream land. We never would have been able to experience all the food and learned all the behind the scenes information about this fascinating place unless we had taken this tour. We left NY with knowledge, fun and seeing things we never would have if we hadn't taken this tour! We will be talking about this for a long time!

My husband, 2 sons(ages 15 & 20) and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It was a great mix of food samplings. Each stop was different and very interesting. We wished we had more time after the tour to go back to some of the locations. Kurt, our guide, was fabulous! He was so knowledgeable, personable and funny! We had a great time not only sampling delicious foods, but also learning more about the history of the market. We have already recommended the tour to several family members and friends.

Daryll was so much fun and enthusiastic. He engaged my children when he thought they were bored, We loved all the descriptions and stories he gave at each store. I have recommended our tour guide and this tour to so many of our friends that plan to visit the area very soon. Thank you for a fun time.
