This tour is a great choice for the winter as it is mostly
indoor. The history of the building was quite
detailed and interesting. The tastings were very good. However
I would have liked to have tasted the gelato from the
booth in the market. I had a great time & give it 2 thumbs
up!!!!!!!! |

I doubt our group would have ventured to Chelsea Market and meat-pacing district had I not read about the Food of New York walking food tour of the neighborhood. What an exceptional surprise! Diana enthusiastically and knowledgeably entertained us and informed us, from the shady past to the current transformation of the old Nabisco factory and the trickle down effect of that incredible vision! The market is filled with wonderful delicacies--lobster bisque, chocolate milk from happy cows that tasted like a Fudgsicle, Italian deli delights eaten with Amy's bread, red velvet chocolate mini cupcake from Elenis, and quick views of upscale restaurants nearby. The transformation of the neighborhood is complete with the advent of the spectacular High-line park, and neighborhood high fashion shops, hotels and eats--our guide showed us the 'hood, and highlighted its history. This tour was a highlight for our group--we ate our way through Chelsea! And loved every minute! |

It was a fun tour. Our guide , Cindy, was very knowledgeable about the history of the building and the stores in the market. This is a great tour to do in the winter since most of it is indoors. The selection of foods was great. The stores were accommodating. It was a liitle tight but the stores are small. We walked a block or two on the high line. The one restaurant that we visited in the meatpacking district was unique. I would definitely recommend it. |

LOVED our tour of Chelsea Market. Our tour guide knew so much about NYC and food - and we explored all types of businesses in the building. Loved the tastings and the energy of this hopping place. |

My husband and I went on this tour and we loved it!! Neither of us really knew much about Chelsea or the Meatpacking Dristrict before we went on this tour. Not only was the food good, but we also learned a lot about the history of the area. Our tour guide was Diana and she was great :-) |

Everything we ate was fabulous and we covered so much territory in and around Chelsea Market. I will recommend this tour to anyone I hear is traveling to NYC. Thanks! |

The Chelsea Market is an amazing place. Our guide Margaret was well informed, organized and kept our tour group interested and amused from the first minute to the last. Her knowledge of the history of the Chelsea Market and other sights in the Meatpacking District was impressive. Margaret answered our many questions and she pointed out items of interest throughout our tour. The food was varied and delicious. Visitors will not learn, see or taste as much in this area on their own. Take this tour! |

My daughter and I took this tour on November 10 at 10:AM. Kurt was our tour guide and we were amazed how quickly he learned everyones name. He was well informed about the market's history and about food and its preparation. He was very entertaining and we enjoyed hearing about meals he had prepared and seeing pictures of them. The food samples were delicious and plentiful. We went back to the market after the tour and purchased some of our favorites. This was our second tour. We had taken the Greenwich Village tour 2 years ago and enjoyed it so much that we had to book this tour for yet another great experience. Thank you Kurt we really had fun. We highly recommend this tour. |
