As I also did the Greenwich Village tour, this tour was recommended. Honestly I thought the Greenwich tour was much nicer since everything was outdoors and the Chelsea Mkt was indoor. Unfortunately at the day I was at the Mkt tour, it was pooring rain and indoor was better. Still, it was an interesting tour with a lot of information and good food. I would recommend this tour for sure.

so exceeded my expectations,!! i recommend this tour to any foodie or person wanting to learn more about chelsea market and meat packing district. (to appreciate this area on your own would be overwhelming and you would probably miss something).. my tour guide, kurt wins the award for best and most interesting tour guide of the big apple!! he knew everyones name, great sense of humor and had so many interesting tidbits, full of knowledge and suggestions. i didnt want the tour to end!! thank you kurt for making that a wonderful day !! also thank you for the yummy food,( i was too full to eat dinner that night! )this was a great way to sample the best of the best. p.s. i also enjoyed my walk back on the "high -line"

My husband and I took this tour because it was one of the least known areas of New York for us. I would highly recommend this tour. We learned that the 1st oreo cookie was made in the old factory building . Our tour guide was Fantastic!!!!! He made the tour an A+. He had a knowledge of not only the restuarants and businesses we toured, he also knew about the food industry. Very smart, witty, and personal. By the end of the tour, he knew everyone by first name and where they lived. I would request him again.

Our tour guide Curt was fun and very energetic. He knew alot about the marketplace itself and his passion for the subject was clearly evident. I highly reccomend both the tour and Curt as a tour guide.

My mother and sister-in-law were in town visiting, so I signed us up for this tour. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon, and gave my sister-in-law a whole new view of New York-- she had previously only been to very touristy Times Square, etc. A great way to entertain guests if you want to show them more local flavor rather than the usual spots. I love Chelsea Market!

I might have found the Chelsea Market on my own - maybe - but I would not have had such a great experience visiting it. Our tour guide was fabulous - voluble, engaging, a veritable fount of information. The food was the star of the show, but all the history of the market, the "inside" gossip about famous restaurants and food personalities was titillating. I'm a big eater from way back, and I found the amount of food available from the tastings filled me to satisfaction. What's the phrase for "more than recommend" because "recommend" seems too banal for how I feel. My friends are avoiding me because if I talk about this tour one more time they're going to send me back. Hey! Wait a minute! What a great idea ...
