Enjoyable

Our female tour guide was enthusiastic and took great care of us, as we sampled a good-sized portion of samplings to taste during our tour. It was nice to also have places to sit down during our tastings; the tour is well-organized. It was great to learn some of history behind the founding of Chelsea Market and the Nabisco Company that once inhabited it and now the vendors who do today. Although I really enjoyed walking around the market, it would have also been nice to have gone outside of the building and spend maybe an hour or so exploring places in the local neighborhood (like the Red Cat restaurant, if it wasn't too far.) Overall the tour is a pleasant experience. Plus, the final stop on the tour is a short walk go back to the market to eat or shop at or just walk around for second time.

Our tour guide made it all very special.

Our tour guide was the cream of the crop. His anticdotes made it very personal. The food items we sample were varied, the shops we entered were also different. We felt we got the best of both worlds, the Chelsea Market and the outside wlaking tour. Our group ages ranged from 20 to 70. We all returned to the shops afterwards and purchased!

Enjoyed the tour, got a decent amount of delicious food to taste. Would have been better if all the tastings weren't just in Chelsea Market, though the market does have some great stuff. Enjoyed the history provided about the MP district, but could have spent more time walking around in it.

Kurt did a wonderful job with the tour! He was very interactive and entertaining! I have already told my friends here in Cincinnati about it. I am especially looking forward to possibly going back to stay in the bed and breakast! My mom and I actually went back to the area later that day and walked around to look at the shops and had dinner at the Lobster Place. Best clam chowder I have had in years. I would also like to maybe do the Chinatown tour the next time I visit.

My compliments. Another proof that it comes all down to the tour guide. In our case Bob was just the perfect tour guide providing the perfect mix, of history facts, funny stories and good tastings - all with the right attention to detail. Thanks, Bob!

The tour stopped at a great selection of shops--so the food we tasted were really fantastic. Come hungry!

The Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District tour was a great time. I live in NYC and took family to this. I'd recommend it to out-of-towners and New Yorkers alike. Our guide, Cyndi, was extremely enthusiastic and knowledgable.

Great tour, tortuous booking

This wasn't our first FoodTours walk, and this one, like the one we did in Greenwich Village two years ago didn't disappoint, with plenty of interesting dialogue and some really nice stores. The problem I see is Zerve. When trying to book online it wanted me to remember sign-in data from my last transaction with them two years ago! When I couldn't do so it would not let me proceed since I was using the same email address as before. Even after two transatlantic telephone calls we ended up having to use my wife's email address to reserve. Clearly Zerve are quite happy to let their desire to build a database of hacked off users(in this case at least) interfere with the generation of business for their clients . If I were FoodTours I'd get out of Zerve as fast as my legs could carry me- they might be costing them a fortune. If I were Zerve I'd change my system so it first and foremost made it easy for willing customers to complete a transcation and forget about linking one transaction to another unless they can learn to do it elegantly. The user names , passwords, and security data I give a booking agency are not very important to me, and if Zerve think I should keep records of this stuff in case I want to use them again, they must be delusional. Its a one off transaction, not the start of a beautiful relationship. But the tour was great- and did I mention that Zerve are a pain.

TOO MUCH FUN

This tour was far more than anyone in our group had expected. We are all local and have been to the market many times, but we were looking for something different to do. As it turned out, it was not only something different, but it was a GREAT time. We sampled some yummy food and laughed for three hours, thanks to our phenomenal tour guide Kurt. Not only was it fun, but it was informative and interesting. It was three hours well spent. Thank You Kurt!!!
