We had a wonderful time and learned a great deal while we enjoyed delicious foods from the market. Todd, our tour guide, was knowledgable and genuinely enjoyed giving the tour. This made the experience that much more exciting. It was fantastic and we have already recommended this tour to family and friends.

I have to say that it was one of the best parts of our trip to New York!! The tour was very informative, fun and was a great way to see a special part of New York. I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to New York and actually already have. If we do make it back to New York again the Grenwich Village tour will definitely be on our list. Our guide Todd was great!

Too expensive, too crowded, bad food quality

Our guide was quite knowledgeable, a show-off but polite individual. On the Sunday we took the tour the Chelsea market was too crowded which made moving around as a group difficult. We were disappointed with the quality of the food. Everything was just packed with calories, nothing was healthy. Besides, on the times we were sitting to try food there was never enough chairs for everybody in our group. I have done already the tour on the West Village and it was much, much better in terms of information about the neighborhood, the food and the quality of the whole experience . Honestly, I do not recommend the Chelsea Market- Meat packing area to any one. You can find all the information the guide provided in any guide of NY. So, go by yourself to the Chelsea Market, the Highland Park, choose your own food and save the tip to the waiter in a good restaurant.

Cindy is a tour guide extraordinaire. At once interesting, informative and entertaining, she puts her all into the tour and the three+ hours fly by. She made all in our diverse group feel welcome. She freely shares anecdotes about herself and so connects well with her group. And did I say she is hilarious?! We learned so much about Chelsea Mkt. itself and the revitalization of the neighborhood that we came away with an appreciation and understanding of the process. The eight food tastings are illustrative, delicious and very satisfying. This was our first food tour; we will now strive to do them all!

I was happy we were indoors, 2 years in a row we had inclement weather. My husband enjoy this tour and Kurt was very enjoyable.

Our guide Curt made our tour a complete success. He was able to manuver our way around Chelsea Market with tremendous grace, charm, knowledge and wit. Curt has the amazing ability to make everyone feel that this tour was arranged just for you. That made this day so special for all of us. We are all still smiling at his brilliant commentary and amazed by his knowledge and energy. The food was amazing and the tour was worth every penny. Thank you

What a hoot!!! Our time with Darryl was fabulous!

Met my friend from Canada on the tour, and loved it from the very first moment. Darryl was the perfect tour guide...was welcoming to everyone, knew all the little interesting tidbits about the locale, and made a group of strangers feel like friends. He obviously had done this a long time as was evident by his warm relationship with the vendors. I feel this might have given us a 'leg up' on the treats offered. (perhaps not, but sure made us feel that way!). Just enough mix of info about the market products, the architecture, the locale to keep everyone interested. Loved going outside to the Highline and looking at Chelsea from a new perspective. HIGHLY recommended to my friends, and makes me want to go on other walking tours! Warmest regards to Darryl.........SMOOCH!

Fun and Yummy!

Curt was our guide and he was very energetic and gave us a lot of insight into the foods and area. He learned everyone's name within the first 5 minutes and made sure to include each of us into the conversations throughout the tour. The foods were good too, from sweet to savory. Do Not Eat too soon before arriving, you will have plenty of food along the way!! Some of our favorites were the meat samples, fancy grilled cheese sandwiches, donuts and pasta! If you're a foodie, you will enjoy this tour!

Our tour guide Curt was so engaging. He remembered everybody's name and where they came from! Our group was very varied, foreign and American, from all over! I was the only New Yorker. He had lots of interesting information to share, was clever and amusing and generally entertaining. And he happily accommodated everyone's needs.

This is the second Foods of New York tour I have taken. I have enjoyed both the Chelsea Market Tour and the Original Greenwich Village Tour. It is a delightful way to spend time in New York City. Our guide at the Chelsea Market tour was Cindy. She was so much fun and very knowledgeable. I had been to both the market and the Highline previously and really did not know the history until I took the tour with Cindy. We experienced excellent food tastings that would not be possible with just a walk through the market on our own. These tours are fantastic for both out of towers and locals.
