Very tasty & interesting look at Chelsea Markets

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Cindy, our guide, made itr a very enjoyable 3 hours. The tastings were great and the stories about each establishment, the market building and meat packing district were very interesting. We had walked through Chelsea market the day before and mostly missed the quirkiness that the developer has put into the building and of course knew nothing of the history or specific design features from its heyday.

This is our third Foods of NY Tour. Our tour guide was quick witted, entertaining, and knowledgable. My disappointment with this tour was less food tasting than the others we have experienced. Overall would recommend!

Good Food and Good History of the Chelsea Market

The Chelsea Market and Meatpacking District Food Tour was well worth the time and effort. The market itself is a very interesting place with a lot of history and becomes the main character on the tour. Even if you have visited the market before you will gain a new appreciation for it once having been on this tour. You also get a small taste of the High Line park, which cuts right over the market. This is perfect for any public space or architecture lover in your group. Over all the Foods of New York tours are outstanding every time, and this one is no exception.

You will NOT be disappointed with this tour. The food sampling was amazing and our guide Cindy was absolutely the best! She provided us with lots of great information about Chelsea Market and there was not a dull moment because of her witty dialogue. From the moment we met her till we said good bye, she made this tour one of the best parts of our trip to NYC!

Very good guide, liked what he did, so it made it fun. try some new foods and some old favorites. The chocolate milk was like the old days on the farm. Would recommend this for a day in the city.

Our tour was great fun! I cant remember who led the tour, may have been Curt, but he was full of knowledge about the market itself and the providores, and his humour throughout kept us going through the many tastings. Time flew by and before we knew it we were eating at Macelleria. I had in Morimoto for a bathroom stop, pressing all the buttons!!! The highline was definitely worth the visit and it looked like a relaxing place to be especially the day we were there as it was lovely and sunny. Foods of New York Tours was a recommendation and I will certainly recommend them to anyone going to NYC.
