My cousin and my 16 year old daughter decided to take a food tour. We had a nice day together. Our tour guide Darrel had alot of personality and provided us with alot of historical information about the Chelsea Market and the area. The only downfall to our tour was sometimes there just wasn't enough time to make a quick purchase during the tour. You were able to go back afterwards but we were on a tight schedule and needed to get home afterward. |

We were guided by Darrel. He was hysterical, full of anecdotes, excellent at managing our group and explaining the history of the Chelsea market and Meatpacking district, and development of the restaurant businesses. Totally recommend. This is our 4th tour with Foods of New York. |

Our tour group of 16 was global in nature (my daughter and I were the most local..all the way from NJ!). We tasted 8 different times/stores. Started with a red velvet cupcake. Moved on to chocolate milk. Had delicious chowder, Italian sausage, biscuit and jams, a marvelous mini meat pie. My favorite was at an Italian shop, where there was a spread of rolls, mortadella, olives, smoked mozzarella, artichoke spread, and a meat similar to prosciutto. That stop offered the opportunity to go back for "seconds"; all the other stops were one "item" each. The last stop was at an Italian restaurant a few blocks from the Chelsea Market itself, where we had a plate of pasta with oxtail ragout (mostly pasta). All were delicious. Our guide, Cindy, was knowledgeable, high energy, fun, and able to answer questions about the food and the area. We met at Chelsea Market, then moved outside to the High Line (very interesting), then moved on to our last stop. I am now psyched to try a similar tour of another part of NY. I recommend this tour...it was a full, enjoyable 3 hours! |

We took the Chelsea Market food tour on Sunday October 8th. We thoroughly enjoyed it and thought that the tour guide, and group felt very enthusiastically about it also. The selection of restaurants visited was impressive, and there was a good amount of variety of food sampled from savory to sweet. I would highly recommend this to any group type whether it be a couple, family or just visitors of NYC. |

We met our tour guide, Bob at Chelsea Market, and he made us feel like old friends the minute we met him. He was VERY informative, upbeat and fun. He kept us interested, happy and fed us many great varieties of food. Went up to the High Line, where he gave us all the details about how it became what it is today. Then we ended up in the Meatpacking District, leraned all the facts and finished up in a nice Italian Restaurant. Bob was an excellent Tour guide and this was a ver good food tour. |

My mom was in town visiting, and since she used to live in the city we decided to do something new. I chose this tour mainly because of the location, and I am so happy that I did. The tour started right on time, and our tour guide Curt was amazing! He had all of our names and where we were from down from the very beginning, greeted each one of us individually, and was so enthusiastic about his job. Each restaurant we went to he made sure that I had an option (I don't eat meat) which was so great and accommodating. At the beginning of the tour we even had a woman come up to our group to show Curt the picture that they had taken from the year before on the same tour- boy did she rave about how good his tour was! The whole time he had all of our attention with his information, stories, and extensive knowledge of the city and food. I have already recommended this tour to a bunch of people! Many thanks to Curt! |
