| This was an excellent tour and the food was outstanding - our tour guide, Bob was great, extremely knowledgeable about the area and very sensitive to the tour members. Would recommend to my friends - have already done so. |

| This was phenominal, Kurt was great!
I would highly recommend this tour in the future.
We did the Grenwich Village tour last year and were excited to do this one.
Kurt was extremely enthusiastic, knowledgeable and just truly happy to be there with us. Offered up many recommendations of great sights. |

| Everything was nice about the tour. Our only complaint was that the tour guide himself, while extremely knowledgable about the history and funfacts of the area, had a very soft voice that did not carry. We had a group of 14 people and his voice just did not project
enough for everyone to hear. |

| As a former licensed tour guide, I am very critical of tours and tour guides.
Sampson did an excellent job as he educated us about the history and continuing development of the area. He was fun and personable, interjecting his information with well-presented stories and anecdotes to keep it interesting. No reciting memorized facts like a robot here! He used a nice conversational tone as if you were being shown around by an old friend.
The group size was good. I prefer fewer than 10, but I understand that's not always feasible. We were able to navigate through the area and within the shops with relative ease as well as be able to hear him when he spoke to us. I would imagine if Chelsea Market and the surrounding area had been more crowded (we went on a Sunday morning), it would have seemed like too many.
The pace of the tour allowed some opportunity to chat with the other tourists a bit during tastings. Discovering commonalities and getting to know each other made the tour even more enjoyable, feeling like we were all friends touring together.
Do not make the mistake of eating breakfast before you go! They were not exaggerating when they say you will have done enough tasting to skip lunch. Unless, of course, you are an extremely picky eater who doesn't love cookies, lobster bisque, antipasto, gelato and more! (Then again, why would you consider a food tour in the first place?)
I was not disappointed in the least. I was initially leery by the words "Meatpacking District." I was relieved that I didn't have to see parts of an animal I can still recognize hanging in a warehouse. Supposedly, there is opportunity to do so during the week, but not on a Sunday when I went so that worked out just fine for me.
My only regret (besides the bagel I ate on the way to meeting the tour!) is that we didn't learn about it early enough to book a tour at the beginning of our time in NYC. I would have loved to have had the time to fully explore Chelsea Market and try a couple of the recommended restaurants in the area. Oh well, next trip!

| I have to admit I was sceptical of a "tour" when my wife suggested it and especially of the "meatpacking district" that I remembered as an area that you didn't even drive thru in the old days and now to do a walking tour was incomprehensible especially when rain was predicted!!! Wow was I wrong.
This was the absolute highlight of our trip (except for seeing "Memphis"!!) The guide was full of personality and just plain fun . We got a great history lesson of the area and the "samples" of the food places was incredible in addition to going thru some fabulous restaurants. Toward the end I was hoping that she would not stop at another food place as I was so full of fabulous foods from all over the country. This is a tour for all ages above 21. We will certainly do this type of tour from your company next time we are in town. Thanks so much for the professionalism and great guidance. |

| Wonderful tour guide made tour very interesting. The establishments visited provided tasty samples that were appropriate in size. Quite pleasing to a lover of Italian specialty foods. |

| There was so much information that we obtained that I would have never known without this tour. Our guide, Kurt was spectacular. His knowledge and humor was right on the money.
The food in Chelsea market was outstanding. We went back and purchased alot of the items we tasted.
We would recomend this tour to everyone going to New York |

| My expectations of the tour were to learn and see something about the history of the meatpacking district. Yes, the title of the tour says chelsea mkt /...... still I hoped to see more of the other part of the title. Instead most part of the tour was spend inside the market.
The market itself was nice, the food-tasting was OK, but if you don't mind missing some explanatory details and marketing of the shops you can do this on your own easily too.
Finally outside the market strolling around the area was nice and interesting.
Regarding the organization this was more than ok and very good arranged. The guide Sam was on-time and very entertaining, so a big plus for him!
Conclusion; all was well guided and organized, but I would not do it again. I will read other peoples comments first before booking a tour to be sure it will meet my expectations. |
