| The guide was knowlegable and enthusiastic. The tour is a great blend of food tastings (lobster bisque, chocolate milk and cookies, Italian antipasto, bread, fruit spreads, unusual tea, etc.) combined with a historic tour of the Chelsea market and the meatpacking district from the revolutionary days to the present day upscale developments. We also had the opportunity to take a peek into some of the most exclusive eateries in town (Budda Bar, Morimoto. Pastice).
Highly entertaining and delicous. |

| The tour was excellent. Our guide was Sampson and he was both knowledgeable and very informative. The samples in some places lacked quantity of samples but overall it was an enjoyable experience We would recomend to others |

| Sampson was a very entertaining guide. He knew the history of the area very well and made the tour very worthwhile. This is a way of learning about a different part of the city and tasting some very good foods as well. You will visit some very famous locations on the tour. We will definitely be going back to the Chelsea Market on our next trip back to New York. |

| Our tour guide (Curt) was great...very funny and very informative. The tour was about 3 hrs long and we didn't need to eat a meal afterwards. Plus, the food tastings were planned out like a meal (soup first, then appetizers, etc). My wife is allergic to walnuts and one of the other tour members was a vegetarian, so Curt went out of his way to make sure that they each had something that fit their dietary requirements. This was a great way to explore Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District. We loved it and highly reccomend it! Can't wait for our next trip to Manhattan to do one of the other tasting tours in other parts of the city! |

| The tour provided a taste of history as well as a taste of a number of diverse foods. The building housing the Chelsea Market is is a tour subject unto itself. The food samplings were delicious and varied, but not overwhelming. We will now visit the Market on every future visit to Manhattan. |

| This was one of the highlights of our trip to Manhattan. Our host was lots of fun and very informative. We recommend this tour to anyone who has any interest in food and learning about the Meat Packing district. Our expectations were surely exceeded. |

| A 16 person group is too large for what you are trying to do. It is unmanageable. The group overloaded the stores and left little room to negotiate. The table in the Italian store was crowded with 8 people. I would cut the group to 12 max.
The store sampling was mediocre- except for the soup and the Italian. The stale cookie and shot glass of chocolate milk was weak, the tablespoon of tea was silly, the gelato was tiny. For what we paid you should get somethin nicer. If I were asked by a friend- I would tell them to walk around and buy a full serving of whatever looked good to them.
The last straw, however, was the tea "lady". She hollered at us for touching stuff in the store, for sitting down in the back, for standing in the front of the store, at a gentleman and his well behaved son for sitting down at the entrance to the store, at my daughter for eating something. The tea sample was miniscule. I told Samson he needed to drop that store from the tour. We were so put off by this rude behavior that we quickly left the tour at that point.
Why does the tour cater to stores who don't want them? |
