My friend and I travel to NYC about once a year, and we are always looking for something new and different to round out our experiences. We have taken the Greenwich Food Tour and thoroughly enjoyed it, so this time we chose the Chelsea/Meat Packing District Tour. It was so informative and entertaining! Our guide was knowledgeable and funny. He answered questions and gave us tips on gourmet foods, cooking, and shopping. This man seemed to love his job, and his enthusiasm was obvious. (An upbeat, intelligent guide makes all the difference when one is on a tour like this, and everyone enjoyed this one. ) We experienced a variety of tasty foods, from hot soup to gelato, and all of it was delicious. This time we were indoors for most of the tour, which was a good thing considering the cold weather. We also spent some time touring restaurants and bars that were frequently visited by "the rich and famous." That was fun, too. All in all, we'd repeat the tour in the future. I'd recommend it to anyone.

This was our second Foods of NY tour--the first being the Greenwich Village tour in May. Sampson was our guide, and he was a joy to spend the afternoon with. The Chelsea Market is a true gem as is the entire ever-evolving Meatpacking District. We learned so much about the building, the vendors inside the market, and the whole area. The food tastings were wonderful and substantial. We even ventured to an area restaurant for an early dinner upon the recommendation of Sampson. We were VERY pleased. We will definitely include another tour in our next NYC visit.

This was our second tour w/Kurt. It's a tie on which was better, Chelsea or Greenwich. We went back to Chelsea Market 2 days later and came upon another group. I listened in and I know I would have been disappointed if I didn't get Kurt for our tour guide the 2nd time. The other guide wasn't bad, it's just that we've been spoiled w/ Kurt's enthusiasm, knowledge, wit, etc.etc.

This tour was even better and more interesting than we had expected. Our guide was exceptionally enthusiastic and knowledgable. All the food samples were huge and wonderul! We will definitely go back to Chelsea market when we are in town next and we may order some items as holiday gifts this year. We also want to try some restaurants when we return and will try to stay at the B&B. It was fascinating to learn the history of the area and how it has changed. The handout was very helpful for future reference and to order goodies now that we're back in Georgia. Thanks for a well-spent three hours!

LOVED it. Our tour guide really made it--going above and beyond--adding in interesting stories, insights, observations, facts--and going over the time to show us the amazing interiors of local restaurants. One drawback if you're going for lunch--it wasn't very food hearty -- lots of tastings -- but of tea, milk, jam, potato chips, gellato, a cookie, soup, and one stop with olives, cheese, and sliced meat.

Samson enthusiastically led us on a tour through the Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District. We already live in NY but learned so much about the area that we didn't already know. Samson was very engaging, made time to answer questions, and never make you feel hurried. He was very personable and knew many of the store owners by name. The tour was a "sampling" of a lot of different restaurants but we were pretty stuffed by the time that it was over. I highly recommend visiting The Lobster Place and Sarabeth's for their delicious fare. It was a great way to spend Sunday afternoon. I hope to see Samson on a future tour!

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Manhattan. Our host was lots of fun and very informative. We recommend this tour to anyone who has any interest in food and learning about the Meat Packing district. Our expectations were surely exceeded.

This was a fun tour, but not as fun and informative as the Greenwich Village tour. Also thought the Chelsea tour had a very skimpy amount of food compared to the other tour.
