Very surprised; we had a great tour guide, keeping the group focused as well as very knowledgeable about Chelsea Market and surrounding area's; kept it fun!

Wonderful way to absorb part of NYC's history

This is the 2nd tour I've taken and it was worth every minute. Not only was the food we tasted really delicious and generous, the guide (Bob) was so extremely knowledgable that I've been enthusiastically telling everyone I talk to about Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District. When the tour was over, I called my daughter and her friend who had also come down to the City with us and asked them to join us to go back to Chelsea Market for a while. We all had a wonderful time.

Curt was our tour guide and he was amazing. Kept it lively and interesting. We learned alot about the history of the area in addition to all of the food. My only suggestion would be to specify that the majority of the tour is indoors. Several of the people in our group including me and my wife had dressed assuming we would be walking outside for 3 hours and ended up being pretty HOT for 2 1/2 hours indoors. But the tour itself was fantastic and we have already recommended it to friends going o NY this weekend.

This is the second tour my husband and I took with foodsofNY, and it was terrific. My husband grew up in NYC, but admittedly had not been to this part of the city much, if at all. We both learned a lot about the area, the history, while enjoying some absolutely delicious foods of all types. This tour is less walking than the Greenwhich Village tour, and much is inside, so weather is not as much a factor, but there still is some outdoors walking. And our tour guide, Kurt was just great. He really is well suited for this task, and thoroughly seems to enjoy giving the tours, and everyone in the group was commenting on how much he added to the event. I would highly recommend this tour, and plan to take it again when we have guests in town.

Incredible but not enough food

Too much desserts, not enough food. A little less info on Food Network would have been appreciated. Incredible history and sightseeing in the neighborhood.

Our guide Kirk, remembered our names immediately. Many people had been on previous tours and were returning for more! learned lots of historical information and had fun! We didn't need lunch as we ate so much!

Different than I expected

I went to the Greenwich Village tour in the summer with a group of friends. It was recommended by a friend who attended the Chelsea Market tour a few months prior. We all loved the Greenwich Village tour and I could not wait to share a similar experience with my family over thanksgiving weekend. I was rather disappointed. We all enjoyed the tour, but I would have to say it was just okay. After discussing my experience with my friend who had nothing but wonderful things to say about it, I realized all the differences. She mentioned a few different "tastes" her group had received. This included gelato cones and kitchen sink cookies. I am sure each tour varies a bit with the food and places they stop. She also mentioned entering quite a few restaurants including the roof of the Gansevoort hotel and bathrooms at Morimoto. Again, I realize changes occur and tour guides differ, but I think this was very different. I really enjoyed my first experience in the summer, but am hesitant to recommend this experience again after last weekend.

Best thing we did in NYC!!!

This tour was the highlight of our two day visit to NYC. We got a ton of great food and visited most of the sites in the Market, Meatpacking District and Greenwich Village. However the true gem of the tour is the guide Kurt. Not only did he pass long a wealth of great information about the sites we were visiting, but he is an extremely knowledgeable foodie and was able to provide color that went above and beyond the typical tour fare. Just make sure you ask him about Martha Stewart!
