What a fabulous way to spend an afternoon! We greatly enjoyed this tour of Chelsea market. Kurt, our guide, was a part time stand up comic and we could tell! What a riot. Both his scripted bits and the off the cuff stuff. Our bellies hurt from laughing so much. The food was also fabulous. We were surprised by the portion size of our tasting, giant cookies, whole bowls of soup, plates full of Italian delicacies..we were stuffed. Overall this was super. Our only regret was that we really couldn't shop...no where to keep the fish and cheese back at the hotel. We definitely want to return for shopping on our way home from NYC on our next trip.

This was a great tour, particularly for a chilly winter day, as it was mostly inside. The Meatpacking District is such a cool area, and Chelsea Market has some wonderful food shops, including an Italian place where we tried meats, cheeses, and olives, and Lobster Place, where we tried clam chowder and lobster bisque. Our tour guide was funny, informative, and just an overall good guy.

The food was plenty and amazing. It made me go back for more. As a foodie myself, it was the absolute highlight of the tour! =) Our tour guide was incredible!! His name was Kurt. He is a comedian and very knowledgeable about the food and the city. PLEASE, try to get him as he made the tour so much fun!! He surprised us with sneak peeks of Batali's and Morimoto's Restaurants during non-business hours and was very personal with us making sure we were all happy and enjoying the tour at all times. SO MUCH FOOD AND FUN FOR A SMALL PRICE!!!! =)

Chelsea Market is a must go-to for anyone visiting NYC. The food in so many of the stores is unbelievably good and affordable. The tour is highly recommended to learn about the background of the establishments, the building itself, the people who made it happen, and about the Meat Packing and Chelsea areas in general. Since most of the tour is indoors, it's a good choice when the weather is bad.

My boyfriend and I live in New York City. We moved here this summer. We took the Greenwich Village tour a few months ago and loved that. The Meatpacking Tour was everything we expected and more. Great guide and fantastic food! Highly recommended!

Second tour with FONY. Had Curt and he was funny and informative. Really enjoyed ourselves, although not as much of an outside tour as Greenwich Village. Still, would certainly recommend. Foods we tasted were really delish!!

Our tour guide Kirt was WONDERFUL. He kept us laughing and took the time to learn all 16 of our first names and addressed us by them the whole time. He had so much knowledge of the Chelsea Market and all of the area and was always giving you suggestions you could use on your trip and in everyday life. I loved seeing the areas that I have seen on TV and hear so much about on the food network. I was pleasantly suprised to actually go inside two IRON CHEFS restaurants!!! That was a real bonus for me and my daughter who was on the tour with me. We enjoyed all the food samples and it was plenty of food enough for our lunch. I have already told friends and co-workers it is a must do when they visit it city. I look forward to doing it again and trying another location to learn more about food of NY. This is a wonderful opportunity for tourists to learn more and experience things they would not be able to do without your tours. Please let Kirt know how GREAT he is and we would love to have him still doing tours next year when we return to the city. Thanks so much for the opportunity to give you my review and for wonderful tours you offer. Sincerely, Connie in Virginia

| First of all, I think the reason our tour was so successful was because we had THE BEST tour guide. His name was Kurt and he was funny, engaging and a real joy to be around. His knowledge of the area was outstanding and most helpful in relating to what we were seeing, eating and experiencing.
The order in which we tasted food from the different establishments was a little weird (i.e.,we had hugh cookies to begin with, etc.) but other than that Chelsea Market was a very fun and inviting place to tour and the food was excellent. We did go back to Chelsea Market after the tour to purchase our favorites to take home to California.
I would highly recomment this tasting tour. (And don't forget to request Kurt as your tour guide!) |

I would highly recommend this tour! Our tour guide, Curt was extremely knowledgable and engaging. I honestly think that everyone on the tour would say something similar. I did the same tour about a year ago and also had a good experience. This tour was different than the last and that made them both enjoyable.

My sister and I brought my mom on this tour for her birthday. We are front New Jersey and often go to NYC. We were looking for something different to do (we always go out to dinner and see Broadway shows). This activity was perfect for us. We got to eat, found out a little history about the area, and had a great time. OUr tour guide was excellent, too. My mom is very hard to please and she left the tour saying she would do it again anytime!
