We took a food tour in NYC for the first time on Saturday. We were six women, friends and co-workers who attended. We had the pleasure of an excellent tour guide named Darryl. He explained not only the tour of the market with its excellent shops but also he gave us a lot of history of the market and the surrounding area. We tasted such delicious foods and treats. We had sufficient time to browse the shops during the tour. Darryl really was very entertaining and fun to be on the tour with. I would definitely suggest the tour to anyone, native New Yorkers like us or tourists the like. It was not only delicious but we also learned some interesting history and the day was full of a lot of laughs!!!

We really enjoyed this food your. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The cheese tasting was the best tasting in my opinion. We weren't crazy about the cucumber with various salts tasting. The guide said this was added to replace a tasting that included bread , and I agree this is a wise move, but you might want to consider adding additional cheeses or a tasting that involves tasting several types of olives. Or, give a larger tasting of the chocolate milk, which was amazing, along with some type of cookie or pastry. Plan to allot yourself extra time to return to Chelsea Market at the end of the tour to continue to explore.

We had such a great time on this tour. Kurt was fantastic - so hilariously entertaining! The food was exceptionally good and so much of it I had to pass on some tastings as it was just too much. It's not like one of those "touristy" tours. I'd recommend it to anyone who's interested in good, real food in NYC (locals and out of towners alike).

It was a great tour with a nice guide. However, last year I was on the greenwich villiage -tour and that one was 100 times better than this one. The guide we had last year, I think his name was Curt, was much more enthusiastic and we saw alot more of the neighborhood. During the chelsea-tour we spend two hours inside the Chelsea Market and saw almost nothing of the surroundings. The reason I went on a second tour this year was because i loved the one I went on last year and wanted to learn as much as I did on that one about another part of the city. It was a nice tour, but since the greenwish villiage tour was so great I expected more. I wanted to se chelsea, the hole chelsea, not only the market.

The tastings were not merely samples, the food was great and it was really fun to see the market and get a taste from the different shops. Would recommend w/o reservation and will definitely take another of the food tours.
