Great tour but not your best one!

It was a great tour with a nice guide. However, last year I was on the greenwich villiage -tour and that one was 100 times better than this one. The guide we had last year, I think his name was Curt, was much more enthusiastic and we saw alot more of the neighborhood. During the chelsea-tour we spend two hours inside the Chelsea Market and saw almost nothing of the surroundings. The reason I went on a second tour this year was because i loved the one I went on last year and wanted to learn as much as I did on that one about another part of the city. It was a nice tour, but since the greenwish villiage tour was so great I expected more. I wanted to se chelsea, the hole chelsea, not only the market.

The tastings were not merely samples, the food was great and it was really fun to see the market and get a taste from the different shops. Would recommend w/o reservation and will definitely take another of the food tours.

Our food guide, Barri, was terrific! She gave us a history of the market and surrounding area but wasn't talking non-stop. The food samplings were varied and delicious! Will absolutely do a Verve tour again!

Everyone in our group of 6 enjoyed the food, the history, the tour guide and overall experience. We have already recommended to others. Thanks for a great time. Well worth the cost of the tour.

It was okay....

My friends and I did the Chelsea Market / Meatpacking District Food Tour. The tour was organized and informative. The tour guide was nice and cheery. However, my friends and I were a bit disappointed with the food selections that we tasted. They tasted good -- nothing that wow'ed my taste buds though. Also, while the last hour of the tour in the meatpacking district was informative, I felt like we were on a fashion store tour -- less fashion, more food!!! I probably wouldn't go on a food tour again...but it's worth trying once.

A fabulous birthday

My three daughters and I celebrated my birthday with a weekend in NYC. One part of the celebration was a tour of the Chelsea Market, highly recommended by one of my daughters who is a chef-professor. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend it for anyone who is interested in food as well as the history of the market.
