Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour

This was my second tour, was wonderful

As former New Yorkers, my wife and I wanted to explore Chelsea Market as a place that didn't exist when we were in NY. We knew of it as seen on Food Network. The idea of a tasting tour was particularly intriguing. We were not disappointed. Bob, our tour guide, led us through the market giving us a wide variety of tastings. Things that we probably would not have tried on our own. Bob had plenty of anecdotes to relate the history and development of the area to keep the group amused. The amount of food available certainly was enough for lunch. We enjoyed the tasting so much, we went back into the market after the tour to buy some goodies to bring back to the hotel and have for dinner.

You know its great when people kept trying to join our group - Food tastings were delightful, the history lesson was the best - only wish the weather was more accomidating but the guide was able to modify the tour outside to keep us somewhat protected - did not diminish our enthusiasm. Nice intro to the area was able to go back to the stores afterwards to shop informed!

Our tour of Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District was wonderful. Our guide, Bob, provided a wealth of information about the history of the area and its development, with lots of interesting facts. The food tastings were plentiful, and all were very, very good. More than enough food for even the hungriest person for lunch. We highly recommend the tour and our tour guide.

Our guide, Bob, was knowledgeable and interesting. He shared stories about the history of the building, the city and the entrepreneurs in Chelsea Market. The tastings were delicious. A great way to spend time in the Big Apple!

We had a wonderful time and Cynthia was knowledgeable and friendly. Living in NY, we thought that we knew the area. She was informative and managed to corral the group and get a lot accomplished in the three hours that we were with her. I would definitely do another tour and we are planning the Greenwich village tour for the Spring. The only thing that would have helped would have been to know that the majority of the tour was indoors. We dressed for the very cold weather and were inside for most of the tour. This was great, however, there should have been some place to check hats, coats, etc. so that we did not have to carry everything around with us for 2.5 hrs. We were hosting out of town guests and they also were very pleased with the tour and asked if they could do another tour the next time they returned to NY.. Thanks for a great day! This was a pleasure and a great value!!

This tour is not just for a Foodie, it has great information/history about the city and the neighborhood. Provided excellent insights into the past, great pictures. Food along the tour was excellent. We can't say enough about our guide Cindy, great knowledge and enthusiasm for the city.

This is a great tour & Curt was fantastic! I've been to NY before & done the Greenwich food tour--both of these I would highly recommend & would do again!

Diana was our very enthusiastic tour guide. It seemed that each taste was more delectable than the last. the lobster bisque is a MUST HAVE for this tour. My only constructive criticism would be that, had we finished our tour where we had started it, I probably would have gone back to the vendors and bought some items. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience (as much as we did 9 years ago in Greenwich Village) and would not hesitate to recommend it to our friends and certainly do another one when next in New York.
