Very iinteresing tour about food and history of the area. Our guide (Kirk? canadian, comedian) was great and very detail oriented with all participants. The tastings were very good and the portions pretty big. The whole history, food recipes and area tips were great. We want to do the other tours in the future.

We arrived as the last part of our Zerve tour group and were welcomed by our tour guide. The food tastings were great; our guide was knowledgable about the food, the restaurants, and the history of Chelsea Market and the meat-packing district. He knew so many details, it was like a mini-history class but interesting. It was very enjoyable and has induced me to return and try out various spots in the area.

I've recommended this to a lot of my friends as a good second or third date type of place. It's better than any other tour of NY that I've done, and as a resident of New York I didn't think it was too touristy.

The tour was terrific, as good, if not better, than the West Village one we took a few months ago. Our tour guide Todd was informative, energetic and fun. The food samples were delicious.

Best history lesson in NYC . . . and you get food!

| Last time in NYC, we did the Greenwich Tour and absolutely loved it. So, this time we opted for the Chelsea Tour, and it did not disappoint. The food samples could easily have been smaller; we both got very full!
Our guide, Curt, was fabulous and made it fun, interesting, and informative. He was very knowledgable and offered juicy tidbits of NYC living.
This is not just a food tour. I mean, you get to sample fun foods and learn about restaurants and food vendors, but it's also great to learn about the NYC neighborhoods and their history, something you really can't get from history books.
I would highly recommend anyone to join in one of these tours as early on in their NYC visit as possible. This way you learn about places to go to dinner for the rest of your stay!
Only regret is that the Soho tour wasn't running this time around, but we'll do it next time! |

My husband and I just got back from NY and did the Chelsea Market Food Tour. It was excellent and more than we expected. The guide - Darrell - was wonderful and the amount of food was more than we could eat. We are anxiously awaiting our next trip so we can do the Greenwich Village tour. This is a definate TO DO tour. Also, this tour is mostly inside so don't let questionable weather effect your decision to do this activity.

Both my husband and I really enjoyed the tour (guided by Darrell - I think that's his name). We learned a bit about the history of the market and the area which we found that was quite educational. I liked the idea that we got to try some of the local food and dairy products which we wouldn't be doing on our own. My husband's comment was that he considered the tour one of our trip highlights. We will definitely take the SoHo/Greenwich tour next time when we visit NY. Thanks!

Lots of fun and a great way to learn about Chelsea Market and the neighborhood. The food tastings were so filling - we didnt eat lunch and had only a small dinner.

This tour was absolutely fabulous! My family and I were captivated the entire time by both the history of the area as presented by our guide and the food as prepared by the vendors. Being from New York it is so interesting to learn the stories of the neighborhoods of the city that everyone has heard of, but few really know. As an added note, our guide Kurt was hilarious and entertaining every step of the way...he is one of the funniest people on the planet.
