| This was a wonderful activity. My husband loves architecture and we both love food so this activity proved to be a great way to combine both of our loves. I should point out that it was MUCH more than a tasting. You should come with a somewhat empty stomach because their tasting portions are quite sizeable.
Our tour guide was fabulous! I think his name was Kurt. He was knowledgeable, entertaining and did an excellent job of telling us stories associated with each stop. He even took us to see a few sites that weren't on the outlined agenda.
Now that we've been introduced to the Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking district we will definitely return on our next trip to New York City. We'll also want to take another of Kurt's tours if he's around. |

| Having just arrived in NYC less than 12 hours hours before, this was an exciting welcome to the city. Kurt, our guide, was very welcoming and enthusiastic- a good welcome to the city. He was very knowledgeable about the market, the shops, the owners, and the food. You could tell he loves this- what he is showing, what he is presenting for the tastings, the people, it seems he was having as much fun as the rest of us. Whatever you do- don't eat a big breakfast just before the tour! And don't worry about lunch- you will eat plenty. Some of the tastings are a bit unusual, but interesting- like the "salt tasting", but some of it is downright delicious- like the cup of lobster bisque and the italian meats and cheeses tastings (trust me- try the mortadella- it melts in your mouth). Once out of the market, you will walk a lot- have your comfy walking shoes on! Our ending was an especially surprsing and relaxing end, which I will not disclose because I don't want to ruin the surprise!
Especially for the "foodie," but great for anyone. |

| We are originally from Brooklyn, NY and New Jresey. We live in Florida for the past 35 years and go back to NYC regularly. On each trip we sign up for a tour and we are amazed at what we never knew and the direction that the City is taking. We learn so much about the people that give and donate to preserve and to make the city a place of history for all to come, see, taste and enjoy.
We highly recommend this tour so you can hear the evolution of a great city in motion. |

| My husband and I were on vacation in New York . The tour was great! Curt (I hope I have his name spelled correctly) was entertaining and informative. The different foods we sampled were outstanding, especially the chowders at The Lobster Place.
We certainly enjoyed learning the history of Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District. It was good to learn that particular area of New York was going through a restoration and renovation process. It is a part of New York that deserves to be saved. Curt's knowledge of the area helped make the tour that more interesting.
I am a regular viewer of programs of the Food Network. That is how I learned about the tour at Chelsea Market. My husband and I recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys learning about food and its history. If we get the opportunity to return to New York, we will visit Chelsea Market again. |

| The overall food tour was very good. Our instructor was very knowledgable and informative. I was traveling with my 70 year old mother would enjoyed the tour, however she would recommend for future tours the pace slows down, just a bit; she was exhausted after the first couple of hours.
It would be my suggestion that the tour guide allows time for rest during each tasting point or allow a 15 minute break after the first couple of hours. We also noticed a couple other people (eagerly) were also winded and eventually grab a cab and left before the tour was over.
Again the attractions and the food was great. |
