Fun, informative and delicious

I LOVED IT!!!!!!! We had a good time, though I think I had the best time of everyone. It was interesting to learn the history and current uses of the building and surrounding area. I loved the tastings and felt that it was relaxed and not at all rushed. if in New York, I would definitely do this again. If I were to change anything I might add a wine tasting opportunity....but it's not a deal-breaker. Our guide (Bob?) was wonderful with a pleasant personality and sense of humor. Honestly, mere words are woefully inadequate for expressing the delightful time I had on this tour. It was a highlight of my trip to New York City.

Great food, friendly guide.

We really enjoyed learning about the history of the meat packing area. Our guide was very friendly, confident, and informed. One member of our group had an allergy to wheat, but accomidations were made for her at every stop. The food was very tasty! Even though we were visiting many different shops, I really appreciated that we were not pushed to buy their products. The size of our tour group was small and the portions of the food were much larger than I expected! I would recommend this tour to anyone.

NY by a New Yorker

Diana led our group on a very riveting tour of the Chelsea Market and environs with enthusiasm and engagement. I came back to Baltimore and told people some of the stories that were told to us and encouraged several people to go to NY just to take part in such a tour. We also went back to the Chelsea Market to purchase some of the food items that were featured on the tour. My daughter now wants to live in Chelsea when she grows up. What a great way to learn about a City! I especially enjoyed learning the history of the area and the building along with tasting the different foods.

If you are a foodie, this tour is for you! The guide was knowledgeable about the area, the vendors, the architecture and the food. It was a fun way to see a part of the city and to enjoy great food. I had no idea we would be trying so much food, there is a lot to eat. I will recommend this tour to friends and family and I plan on taking the tour again sometime. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Kirt was fabulously entertaining and well versed with details of the tour and special insights to particular interests. His quick wit and attention to detail made him an instant 'hit' with myself and my girlfriend! I highly recommend him for an Emmy or at least a raise! Cindy Spragg

Both Grandmother and Grandson Happy Customers!

This tour really covered all the bases as far as appeal to a varied age group: I am a 70 year old CA grandmother taking her 18 year old grandson on his first trip to NYC, and we both loved it! Granted, my grandson is considering a career in the food industry, so his interest in good food was perhaps greater than some, but the guide alone was so terrifically entertaining that he outdid the comedy club we went to the night before! Not that we were there just for the jokes; the tour was very interesting both in terms of the area and its history not to mention all that lovely food tasting.

Great history of the Meatpacking District

This food tour centered mostly around the Chelsea Marketplace, and it was very informative about not only the large wholesale food providers, but also the history of the building. It covered the building's past lives including the restoration and revival to its form today. The last part of the tour took us outside and around the neighborhood. It is a fascinating part of the city that is now in a major transition. All of the tastings were in the marketplace-I wish we had had some tastings in a couple of the restaurants outside. The tastings included too many sweets for my palate-would have enjoyed more "real food" from restaurants etc. But it was well worth it-there was a lot of food, and you definitely won't go hungry!

Fantastic-- and a great tour guide!

This was an amazing and informative tour!! I am a food engineer and a bit of a foodie and wanted to see this other side of NY on a weekend trip from Texas. With my travel alarm clock still on Central Time, our day got off to a bad start-- we thought we were 30 min early for our tour, but ended up 30 min LATE! After a near divorce on the streets of Manhattan we ran into the market looking for our group. Not only were they exactly where the instructions said-- the tour guide had saved us 2 cookies from the first tour stop we missed!!! Needless to say, the tour continued with great food stops, snacks and insights. Even my guy (who was a solo male in a group of 10 women!) was impressed. Thanks to Cindy for being a wonderful, enthusiastic guide- and for saving our day!
