We have a grea t time on the Chelsea Market tour. Our tour guide was excellent and made it lots of fun for all. We did however get a little bored walking around indoors for the 1st 2 hours. We did the Greenwich Village Tour last fall and I would highly recommend that one if I had a choice - much more interesting!, lots of history and a great walking tour!

our guide darrel was great-- energetic, friendly, knowledgeable. chelsea market tastings were more varied and substantial than the greenwich village one (which i did last week). due to the fact that this tour mostly takes place indoor i'd definitely recommend it for wintertime tourists!

Having taken the Foods of New York food and walking tour of Greenwich Village, my daughter and I expected to have an awesome experience, and we were not disappointed. Our tour guide, Kurt, was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. We ate some fabulous food, went "behind the scenes" of Chelsea Market, got some good tips on other restaurants in the area, and learned some interesting history about that part of Chelsea. A wonderful blend of history, good food, and culture.

What a great way to spend a hot Saturday. The guide was not only knowledgeable but a hoot as well. Kurt was a big part of why the tour was so much fun. The tastings were great and inspirational to a professional foodie. It was nice to learn new things that NYC has to offer. You will laugh, learn something and eat till your stuffed.

My parents were in town visiting me from Michigan so I arranged for us to take this tour. We took the train in from New Canaan, CT and spent 3 great hours with our tour guide Kurt. Not only was the tour informative, the food samples delicious but Kurt's personality really made the tour memorable! My parents had a great time and especially loved that Kurt took us to his friend's brownstone and they got to see her secret garden. It was a side of New York that you would not expect and not usually get a chance to see. I have recommended this tour to several people already and will continue to do so!

The vast majority of the tour was held inside Chelsea Market, therefore we did not see very much of Chelsea or the Meatpacking District; just the market...which was okay but not awesome. They give you really 3 meals to taster, which was okay but we also sampled salt.... When we did finally walk outside, we did not taste any food, just learned about the area which was cool! I recommend getting to Chelsea Market early in order to look around by yourself at all of the various shops becuase the tour does not cover them all. If you're new to New York, I recommend the Greenwhich Food Tour more....great food, constantly walking the streets, restaurant tips, more culture and background! Good Luck!

We were only in town for 3-4 days, so I felt like this 3 hours could've been spent better on something else. There's so much to do in NYC. But, if you're there for a week or so and you're interested in the history and culture, then you might enjoy it. We felt that the pace was a bit slow. If it's your first time in NYC then I'd save this excursion for the next time. You could always stop by and sample a few things on your own in far less time. Fat Witch Bakery is definitely a do not miss.

My husband and I loved the Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District tour. It combines two activies we enjoy - eating and learning about new areas. Even though I lived in New York for several years, it was still interesting to find out the history of some of these artisinal shops and get to taste the food. I would highly recommend this tour to others - both local and out-of-towners.

| We can't decide. We did the Village walk in January with Curt and then the Meatpackers with Darrell. Both were wonderful and if that was only Darrells second tour he is going to be great. The information and of course the food was wonderful.
Many thanks

I had seen this review on line and so decided it would be interesting to do. It was fantastic. Our guide was fun, lively and presented everything with such enjoyment. She really provided a once in a lifetime experience. I would highly recommend this to anyone coming to New York. It is different than many of the things you would normally do and is a must do when visiting the city.
