Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour

My girlfriend & I took this tour and both agreed it was excellent. Kurt, our guide, could not have been more knowledgeable, interesting, and FUN! He knew everyone in the group by name and expressed a contagious enthusiasm for his job, always trying to be certain everyone was comfortable & having fun. The vendors & shopowners we visited were very accommodating and the food was terrific. We cannot wait to do another tour on our next visit to the city.

We had an absolutely great experience - thanks to the guide, Kurt. He really delivered, and had all sorts off background information, and not to mention a very positive attitude. The tour concentrated on Chelsea Market, which we at first though was a bit disappointing, but as we the tour went along we dismissed that though entirely. This old factory is so full of old and new, and it was truly interesting to see what the place has become. The tour also went a few blocks south of the Market, and the neighborhood is very interesting. We will definitely consider another food tour next time we get the opportunity to com back to New York City!

we had time to kill before checking into our apartment and this food tour was perfect! our tour guide kurt was very knowledgeable, super enthusiastic and funny! He got brownie points for memorizing ALL of our names and where we were from! the tour went exactly as described online, we even squeezed in a few freebies/samples! our red velvet cupcake was amazing- whipped cream frosting was so much nicer than the 'normal' cream cheese. the chocolate milk was so creamy and delicious. everyone raved about the lobster bisque but we personally thought the super creamy and rich clam chowder was the best (we went back a few days later to have more!). the little italian store gave me an eggplant/vegetarian dish instead of what everyone else had to eat, although my boyfriend said it was really yummy! chelsea market baskets was okay but we went back and bought the chocolate truffles that they had on sale! sarabeth's had some tastey marmalade and we even got to see her (owner) through the glass! and our last stop had super fresh tasting pasta. the tour took us through highland park which was super cool because i heard about it and didn't even know it was part of the tour!! overall, super great experience, we learned a ton and the food was DEE-licious. We brought our friends back a few days later and shared all that we learned!! i highly recommend this tour and made me super curious about the other tour locations would have been; wish i had time to do them all!!

We all had a great time. Our guide, Curt was informative, personable and had a great sense of humor. Would definitely recommend this tour.

The tour guide Daryl was amazing. Full of personality and character. The food tastings were great. Maybe some more walking outside as opposed to everything being contained inside. Overall, the best we have been on. We would highly recommend!

Loved this tour, what an amazing guide Kurt was. Firstly he remembered everyone's names, impressive with a group of 16 .He was polite, witty , thoughtful and funny throughout the tour. He answered all questions, it was was his humour I will most remember and kept everyones interest. Time flew by, loved all the food we tried on the tour. Bought some pasta from one of the stores and it was delicious. 10 out of 10 for this tour. Try to get Kurt as your guide , he is such a positive person he will make yr day !

Kurt was our tour guide for the Chelsea Market tour. We had a great time! Kurt was hilarious, very personable, and impressed us with his knowledge of food and the area. The food on the tour was great, was enough for lunch. Just being in Chelsea Market was such a neat experience! We'd love to do another tour of a different area and would request to have Kurt again!!

Eight of my co-workers and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour and food tasting in the Chelsea Market and Meatpacking District. Even though we are all residents of NYC, we still learned a lot and all the food was delicious. Our tour guide Diana was great. She was upbeat, interesting and informative. If one thing could be changed, it would be better if the dessert could be the last thing we sampled and not the first. Otherwise it was perfect. This was our second foods of NY outing, and there are sure to be more in the future!

This is our second food tour with Foods of New York and once again loved our experience. Chelsea is a unique neighborhood and it was great being able to learn about its history and current life all while eating delicious foods. Our guide Daryl was as entertaining as he was knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour to anyway, whether they love in New York or are just visiting.
