| Despite a very cold day, our party of 13 were given a very informative insight to the restaurants and history of the meat-packing district. Our guide was very knowledgable and we learnt so much from her during the tour.
The different stops for refreshment allowed us to sample a wide range of foods.
Well worth the money. |

| For $40 a head, we expected more food. You only do get a real small sample per stop/tasting. The tour-lady is kind and enthusiastic; but she kept on talking and talking and talking... So basically if the 3-hour tour was only 1.5 hours, it would've been superb.
Still would recommend to people. |

| A friend and I were in New York for 4 days recently and having read about the FoodTours online, decided to book the Chelsea Market one - it being mostly indoors, out of the winter chill. From the minute it began, this was without a doubt the highlight of our trip. Being total foodies, the range of fare on offer really impressed us, with the focus on natural ingredients and sublime taste! The contrasting businesses we got to visit and the seemingly unlimited access we were privy to was unexpected but so very enjoyable! Kurt Upton, our guide was the main reason this tour was as engaging as it was - hilarious and endlessly knowledgeable, Kurt's love of food and enthusiasm for the market, its inhabitants and the area was irrepressible.....to the extent of bringing the 15 of us to his friend Marjorie's bed and breakfast for a peek around!!
We were so delighted to have discovered this New York treasure, we cannot wait to come back, visit the fabulous Chelsea Market again and take part in the Greenwich village tour - I highly, highly recommend an excursion with Foods of New York, a wonderful experience! We've been singing its praises ever since and will be for some time to come!! Michelle - Ireland |

| My daugher-in-law and I were in the city for a "girl's" trip and enjoyed this tour very much. Curt, our tour guide was very informative and very entertaining. All of the stops provided us with great food and interesting New Yorkers to tell us about their products. We were lucky enough to meet Sarabeth on our tour and did go to one of her restaurants the next day. We also enjoyed the "walk-thru" of the B & B. I would highly recommend this tour.

| This past Sunday we had the great good fortune to spend 3 hours with Todd learning about Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking district. "We" includes 7 of us - ages 13 through 60+ who were visiting New York for the weekend. All 7 of us completely enjoyed the experience. Todd is obviously passionate about the area he is guiding groups through, and gave us a slice of the history of the area as well as of what the future of the area my be. All aspects of the tour were well thought out and well planned. The two members of the group with food allergies were thrilled to be able to participate in all of the tastings - modifications had been made to include them (I had noted the allergies when we reserved our places).
We are planning our next trip to the city - with a day spent exploring the area on our own - including dinner in one of the restaurants Todd recommended, and a day set aside to take the Greenwich Village tour.
Thank you! |

| Allthough this tour came about as more to be with my upstate touring family, having been born & raised in NYC and not a stranger to the meat-packing district, it was refreshing to be a tourist in my own town. Proverbial blinders were removed and I was able to learn about things that affect my day to day living in positive ways. I can only wonder how informative it would have been had I known nothing! Thanks very much, my boyfriend and I reside in the West VIllage and want to take a tour of our neighborhood now too : ) |

| We had such a wonderful time on the Chelsea Market/Meat Packing District Tour! As soon as we walked through the door - we were amazed at how this spacious indoor location is practically hidden from the "typical" NYC hustle and bustle. Our tour guide, Kurt, was very entertaining and informative. We have already told people - strangers, even - that even though you can wander around New York and find a million things to do, it makes it more fun when you have someone giving you the history about an area. From the marketplace into the meat-packing district, the fun facts were definitely an added treat.
But of course, the star of the tour was the FOOD! We got to taste-test almost all of the shops in the marketplace: the dairy, bakeries, seafood, italian, and sweet shops! You'll definitely need to skip breakfast and this will serve as your "meal-for-the-day." We were stuffed!
The tour was one of our favorite parts of our trip to NYC, and we can't wait to come back again and bring our friends! |
