| This tour is definitely worth the time and money. Several top shops are visited within Chelsea Market, as well as popular restauants of the surrounding area. The tastings are all of very high quality foods. There was more than enough food provided to suffice as a meal for lunch. The tour guide was fun, nice, and very knowledgeable, not the 'corny' type that I have encountered on many tours that is simply performing for tips. And, not only do you get to taste great food, you learn the history and other facts about the area while you are at it. Highly recommended! |

| A few years ago I had been on the Greenwich Village walking tour twice and thought they were wonderful. This time my sister and I decided to try something different. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area, we tasted great food (to quote the woman behind us, "yes") and we saw very interesting sites. These tours are so enjoyable I will continue to recommend them to friends. |

| Thanks Food Tours and Curt! This was a fun thing to do for us food enthousiasts.
If you are visiting New York, do this in the beginning of your trip, because you'll get good tips about restaurants, when to go, and what to taste. Not only from your quide but also from other participants. |

| The location of the tour was easy to find from our hotel and the directions were great. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave great local insight. You did get plenty of food for lunch and tips for other places to see and eat. I would recommend this tour for any foodie or someone wanting to get some great local flavor. |

| This was our second "Foods of New York” tour, with our first being the Greenwich Village tour. While my wife and I enjoyed the tour of Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District, we both agreed we enjoyed the Greenwich tour more.
With that said, it was nice to have about 75% of the Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District tour inside (of the Chelsea Market), as the temperatures outside were pretty chilly. We were exposed to some wonderful venues within the Market, and will definitely return there on a return visit to NYC. There was such a wonderful vibe in the market with so many different shops, it was really enjoyable. We also hit Morimotto's and Del Posto, which were neat to see inside of and without the crowds and noise during normal operations. Del Posto has been on our short list of places we'd like to dine, and this tour has further bumped it up the list.
I think the things we didn't really like (as compared to the Greenwich tour) were that we didn't really get the "neighborhood" type vibe. This is probably more a product of the areas of town, and not really something that was "wrong" per say with the tour itself.
I would say that if you have to pick one and the weather is going to be decent, go with the Greenwich tour. If you're looking to do another tour and/or the weather may be a bit inclement, I'd definitely recommend the Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District tour. |

| My husband and I are from North NJ and we take frequent trips to NYC for shows, dinner, museums etc. My husband was in charge of our plans for the Valentines weekend. It was not at all of what I expected, but even better. Our tour guide Sam was outstanding. He had a very friendly attitude along with helpful knowledge that educated us of places and facts. Along with this tour we got to try foods in almost every restaurant in the Chelsea Market. This was a 3 hr tour and we were both stuffed by the 1st hour. It was wonderful!
Whether you live in NYC or out of town, I recommend this tour.
We will definitely be back!! |

| This tour far exceeded our already high expectations. The food we sampled, the area, the group were all excellent. Our tour guide, Kurt, was extremely knowledgeable, informative, and most of all hysterically funny! We left knowing some interesting things about the area, stuffed with great food, & laughing all afternoon. Highly recommend this for locals, not just tourists! Definitely a great outing with friends, as a gift - for any occasion! I can't wait to try the other tours! |

| Our Tour Was truly more than we could have imagined or hoped for. Our tour guide was enthusastic, genuinely enjoyed what he was doing and it showed. He really made sure we all had a great time and it was a great Value. My Husband and I both work in the Hotel Business and had very high expectations. The Tour Delivered it all. We know the chelsea market already but was introduced to new things we had overlooked and were thrillled from Start to Finish. We will both Highly Recommend this tour and the Zerve Website as well. Thank you for a Job Well Done. Two Thumbs up for Kurt as well . He was Great. |

| Samson was a very engaging and enthusiastic guide, and the tour covered a LOT of ground! We were very impressed with the food, and Samson is obviously well-thought-of by the vendors in the market. A few comments, however:
1. We were told we would be coming back to Chelsea Market at the end of the tour. In fact, we ended up on the penthouse level of a hotel several blocks away, where Samson joined a couple guests in the bar and left the rest of us to make our way. Since we did want to shop at some of the places we'd seen, it was a little inconvenient to have to walk all the way back on our own.
2. We thought we heard Samson say that the Food Network studio, or at least part of it, would be in the tour, and we were not shown anything from the Foot Network.
3. While it was neat to see Morimoto and Battali's restaurants, it would have been more interesting to hear/see more of the history of the area. Our "meatpacking" part of the tour involved walking past a place that had old signs on it, with an active meatpacking plant across the street but we didn't see any of it.
Again, we loved the tour and have already highly recommended it but there were a couple areas we felt we were a little misleading in terms of what was actually included in the tour. We'll definitely check again next time we come to NYC!
Thank you! |
