| Visiting a neighborhood of NYC, where people work and call home, was a treat for a tourist in a city, almost too large to comprehend. Walking through the Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District put a human face on the City for me. Cindy, our tour guide, was energetic and knowledgeable. She seemed sincere in her affection for the area. My suggestions for improvements are two: first, to reduce the size of the group to something more intimate, maybe 12. And second, to spend less time in the Chelsea Market and more time in the Meatpacking District. In the Meatpacking District, maybe the tour could walk through one of the operating meat packing houses and go inside one of the restored buildings. |

| Very enjoyable afternoon. We had an enthusiastic tour guide who added zest to the tour. The food tastings were varied and tasty. It was a part of New York that we hadn't visited before and I would highly recommend it. |

| My husband, born and raised in NYC but now living in the South, and I try to see a different part of the city each time we visit. We found this tour on the web and are so pleased we picked it. Wendy, our guide, was friendly, knowledgable, and made our day with her details of history and her warm and friendly attitude. Small group, 16 or so, made it easy to hear and for the tour to travel the area. The history and current use of the Chelsea Market, along with the great tastings along the way, made the three hours fly by. Speaking of the food - it was great!!! And, not just little samples - almost full servings of each thing. Surely didn't need to eat the rest of the day. If you are foodies like we are, treat yourself to a tour of the market (maybe even see some of the Food TV personalities!!) and the up and coming area of the City. In addition, prices at the stores are very reasonable - spices, nuts, and fruits at prices less than you can imagine and, you can find things here that are unavailable anywhere else in the City. Make a date with yourself - go on this tour and have a great time!! |

| Cindy was our tour guide - she was funny, knew the area and people around the market well!! All the food was excellent!! This is a great tour - to be able to see an up and coming district in the city before it gets too crowded! We have also taken the Greenwich tour (2X) and would recommend both tours very highly. Just wear comfortable shoes and be on your way!! Make sure you also leave time to go back and explore on your own! |

| The tour guide provided a lot of historical information and current developments in the Chelsea area and the market in which we spent most of the tour. The food that we tried was so delicious and the guide even pointed out food bargains, restaurants, and shops. |

| This was a wonderful tour for tourists as well as locals. The atmosphere is wonderful at the Chelsea Pier and the history is rich. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny too!! Since we were the locals we knew a little of the background of the neighborhood but was unaware of its recent move to stardom. Can't forget the FOOD!! Great variety and oh-so Yummy. This will be an excellent gift for all my family and friends. |

| This is the second Zerve tour we've taken. We did the Greenwich Village tour two years ago. While this was a great tour that opened up an area of the city that I didn't know much about, I would suggest that people that could do just one, do the Greenwich Village tour first. The tour guides on both tours were knowledgeable and interesting to talk with. They willingly provided individual attention, and tried to accomodate dietary constraints.
Howqever, the chelsea and Meatpacking District tour made for a very enjoyable day. Since there was less walking than the other tour, it was more relaxing. Most of the tour was at the market, going from store to store. There's a great selection of sponts to shop and eat at, and some to dine at that if we had more time we would have patronized. Some of them reminded me of the Pike Place Market in Seattle and other destination markets our here. Especially remarkable was the Lobster Place with the huge selection of seafoods and the great chowders. Also, the produce store was fascinating with its huge selection of mushrooms.
On future trips to New York, we'll be going back to the meatpacking district to see how it evolves.
Thanks for running these tours. I hope that by the time of our next trip there will be new offerings to consider. |
