Possibly the best part of our NYC trip

We can't wait to get back to do more tours. Between the wonderful food, the interesting background and the congenial guide, the 3 hours seemed almost too short - even while wrangling 3 small children. Chelsea Market not only has some neat history but also does a great job of showing where the area is heading.

This tour was recommended to us by friends. We booked it as a Father's Day gift. We have adult children (20's) and found that we all enjoyed the tour. The food was delivered in much larger portions than we expected! Every stop was fantastic. I would definately book this tour!

Our tour guide Curt was fun and very energetic. He knew alot about the marketplace itself and his passion for the subject was clearly evident. I highly reccomend both the tour and Curt as a tour guide.

"Just Right"

I did this tour with my 21 year old daughter. The mix of amazing history..great food ..and fabulous landmarks could not have been better. Bob, our guide was so amazingly knowledgable about so many things. A real wealth of information. The amount of food we tested at each stop was "just right". The time we walked was "just right". The size of the group was fine. It would have been great to have a few less...but then the cost would have to go up..and the price for this fantastic few hours..."just right"

This tour was even better than the Greenwich Village tour if that was possible. Our tour guide, Curt, was funny, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful with suggestions for our stay in NYC. I said we had children with us, but our children are really adults, 32,29,26,25 who have not stopped talking about the great time we had. Also, the fact that you were so understanding of our need to reschedule ( we had a death in the family) is incredible. I cannot say enough good things about this and I am so looking forward to yet another tour when I return to NYC Mary DeMaina

NY by a New Yorker

Diana led our group on a very riveting tour of the Chelsea Market and environs with enthusiasm and engagement. I came back to Baltimore and told people some of the stories that were told to us and encouraged several people to go to NY just to take part in such a tour. We also went back to the Chelsea Market to purchase some of the food items that were featured on the tour. My daughter now wants to live in Chelsea when she grows up. What a great way to learn about a City! I especially enjoyed learning the history of the area and the building along with tasting the different foods.

Lots of food, vegetarian/food allergy friendly!

With Bob as our tour guide, my group (consisting of my parents and myself), had an excellent time, learned a lot and most importantly, ate lots of food! Being a vegetarian with an allergy to nuts, I was leary at first of being able to participate in all the food tastings. When I purchased the tickets I was suprised to be asked if there were any vegetarians or members with food allergies. The tour guide did a wonderful job of providing me with multiple alternative tastings along the way, all meat and nut free! I was a little disappointed that we did not get a chance to learn more about each food establishment, see how the food was made or speak to any of the owners. I know that time was an issue, especially because we were doing both chelsea market and the meat packing district, and also not many owners are around on the weekend. It could be a great idea for the future to have a week day tour of just chelsea market that became more exstensive and behind the scenes at the various shops. Overall, both my parents and I had a great time. I can't wait to get back to Chelsea market with my boyfriend and friends, now that I know what fabulous things it has to offer!

Great idea but limited samplings.

While we enjoyed the tour and would recommend it, we thought it was too expensive for the tastings provided. We were expecting to have tastings from the restaurants we visited, for example at Morimoto's. The tour guide Darryl was great. When we had the cheese tasting it was very limited--one tiny piece of cheese on a tiny cracker. The lobster bisque and the Eleni's cookie were the highlights and were very good. More food needed to be provided for $44 per person.
