Good tour and excellent guide. Most of the time was spent in the Chelsea Market, a place I wouldn't have necessarily known about had I not taken the tour. The tastings were tremendous, however, they were a little "dessert heavy." I would have preferred more tastings that offered more choices in food. The best tasting was the salt tasting - I never knew that salt could be so varied. The tour guide's knowledge of the area was top notch - I especially enjoyed getting to know more about the meat packing history and the initiative to save the skyway. This is the best tour if it is raining outside since most of the time is spent inside the Chelsea Market.

I purchased this tour due to wife's love of the Food Network and the Chelsea Market area. I was a little worried it may be drab and boring. I was pleasantly surprised. Our guide was enthusiastic, informative, and entertaining. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Everything we tasted was fabulous, and I must commend our tour guide Cindy for making the tour an entertaining one. I've already recommended the tour to friends & co-workers who plan to head into NYC. I plan to schedule one of the other locations very soon. This is definitely worth it and a great thing for all foodies!! Thanks.

My husband and I toured Chelsea Market last Saturday and had a great experience. The tour took place primarily on the first floor of Chelsea Market, and then we walked around a bit in the neighborhood (but all the tastings were in CM). Our guide Darryl shared fun and interesting facts, just the right amount to keep us entertained. We never felt rushed and truly got to enjoy this culinary experience. The tastings included: chocolate croissants, spreadable fruit on biscuits, various sea salts, chocolates, seafood bisques, whole grain bread, deli meat, olives, pepperoni, blueberry lemonade, cheese, chocolate milk and coffee flavored milk. I might be leaving something out. If you are a picky eater, this tour is not for you. Though the advertisement said most people don't need to eat after the tour, we were still hungry and grabbed a slice of pizza afterward. All in all, a great way to spend a half day in NYC.

My parents were in town visiting me from Michigan so I arranged for us to take this tour. We took the train in from New Canaan, CT and spent 3 great hours with our tour guide Kurt. Not only was the tour informative, the food samples delicious but Kurt's personality really made the tour memorable! My parents had a great time and especially loved that Kurt took us to his friend's brownstone and they got to see her secret garden. It was a side of New York that you would not expect and not usually get a chance to see. I have recommended this tour to several people already and will continue to do so!

I would not have known Chelsea Market was even there if it had not been for this tour, and it is a beautiful, interesting place. I would prefer to have more samples of unusual foods, and history of the foods/chefs of NYC, but overall, the tour was interesting.

Best part, of course, was the food tasting (especially the croissant from French Oven!). I was surprised by how much food there was to sample - it really was a good lunch (although the courses were not in order - I love having dessert first and last). I've been to Chelsea Market several times before (Frank's) but will definitely go back more often. It personalized the place in a way that made it more approachable. I'm from a small town on Long Island where you know who owns & runs the supermarket and after the day was over I felt that same familiarity with Chelsea Market. Looking forward to seeing how the Meat Packing District will change even more in the next few years. Thanks!

My husband and I loved the Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District tour. It combines two activies we enjoy - eating and learning about new areas. Even though I lived in New York for several years, it was still interesting to find out the history of some of these artisinal shops and get to taste the food. I would highly recommend this tour to others - both local and out-of-towners.
