Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour

If you only do ONE thing in New York, then it had better be this tour! It was the best of everything that makes New York so special! An extremely knowledgeable tour guide, with a wonderful personality, great food, and terrific sightseeing! It was recommended to me and I have recommended it to everyone here at work! Can hardly wait to do it again the next time!

For anyone who loves food and learning about an area, this is a tour you must do. Not only was it informativie about the foods and business owners, but also about the history of the area. In an era of big box and discount stores, it is terrific to see small businesses flourish. Hats off to them and to the developer(s) who had the vision.

My daughter and I both loved the Chelsea Tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting NYC. The food as well as the history lesson were fabulous! This is an event not to miss!

Must do if you want to get to know a lesser know part of New York and taste some amazing stuff!

Darrell was an excellent tour guide! Good pace. Very good presentation. Enjoyed the food, particularly the variety. Great to experience Chelsea Market, the High Line, and the Meatpacking District. Great basis to return and enjoy this area.

Darryl our guide was fantastic. Great energy & really gave our group a sense of the wonders at the market. We loved it so much we went back the next day to re-explore & taste. make sure to walk the Highline it really caps off the experience.

Worth every penny.

A great tour. We were a group of 15 friends with kids ranging from 12 to 19. My 12 year-old said that he enjoyed the tour very much and not one of the kids complained about it lasting 3 hours. I am sure the cookies and ice cream helped. Everyone enjoyed the stores at the Chelsea Market and the walking in the Meatpacking district. Our guide was very informative and fun to listen to. The food was delicious. May we suggest serving the delicious cookies and chocolate milk after the New England clam chowder (or any of the other wonderful soup choices.) Also, serving the pasta with a meatless topping would have allowed our vegetarian friends to enjoy the last meal. After the tour we returned to the Chelsea Market for some serious shopping at the TSalon and Sarabeth's Kitchen. Those fruit spreads are hard to resist. I will definitely look into another tour when back in NYC again.

Our guide Darryl did a fantastic job! I went on your Greenwich Village food tasting tour two years ago, and I was very happy to find that Darryl's tour was equally well done. He was personable, full of knowledge, and presented the information in a nice loud, clear voice. All of the food samples were DELICIOUS! I can't think of any way in which the tour can be improved...well, maybe if the Chelsea Market had more rest rooms available...there was just one section in the middle where there were restrooms open, and there constantly was a long line. I have already recommended the Foods of NY tours to friends and family. Thank you!
