My husband, born and raised in NYC but now living in the South, and I try to see a different part of the city each time we visit. We found this tour on the web and are so pleased we picked it. Wendy, our guide, was friendly, knowledgable, and made our day with her details of history and her warm and friendly attitude. Small group, 16 or so, made it easy to hear and for the tour to travel the area. The history and current use of the Chelsea Market, along with the great tastings along the way, made the three hours fly by. Speaking of the food - it was great!!! And, not just little samples - almost full servings of each thing. Surely didn't need to eat the rest of the day. If you are foodies like we are, treat yourself to a tour of the market (maybe even see some of the Food TV personalities!!) and the up and coming area of the City. In addition, prices at the stores are very reasonable - spices, nuts, and fruits at prices less than you can imagine and, you can find things here that are unavailable anywhere else in the City. Make a date with yourself - go on this tour and have a great time!!

Cindy was our tour guide - she was funny, knew the area and people around the market well!! All the food was excellent!! This is a great tour - to be able to see an up and coming district in the city before it gets too crowded! We have also taken the Greenwich tour (2X) and would recommend both tours very highly. Just wear comfortable shoes and be on your way!! Make sure you also leave time to go back and explore on your own!

The tour was wonderful! It was full of interesting information and wonderful tastings! We went back before returning to Hawaii to get our "omiyage" (gifts) for our family and friends.

A great insight into an area of the city we had not yet explored. See this booming district now while there's still a hint of what it once was. Cindy was pleasant, professional and a wealth of information about the history of the area and the forces that are shaping it today. Learn a little something and enjoy some good food

Having enjoyed the Greenwich Village tour a couple of years ago I had high hopes for the Chelsea/Meatpacking tour - and it didn't disappoint. The story of the area's recent transformation was wonderfully brought to life by our guide - Cindy. Her passion for the area and for good food is truly infectious. Only downside is that I live in London - a long way from the wonderful Manhattan Fruit Exchange!

It was a very informative, and very fun tour. The food choices were delicious, and we learned much history that we would not have had insight on, otherwise. Highly recommended!

This was our second tour with Foods of New York (we also did the Greenwich tour last year) and we loved it! The food is fantastic the insight and information abut the neighborhood was facinating and the guide was great. We look forward to a new trip being added to the mix - we will definately be back to take it if it happens!

The tour guide provided a lot of historical information and current developments in the Chelsea area and the market in which we spent most of the tour. The food that we tried was so delicious and the guide even pointed out food bargains, restaurants, and shops.
