Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour

We were pleasantly surprised with the tour. We had no prior recommendation for the tour. Found article through our local newspaper. Tour guide was very knowledgable, funny was a huge part of a good experience with the tour. Surprised with the food tastings, did not expect the amount of samples received. It was interesting to hear the history behind the Chelsea market.

After taking the Greenwich Village tour several years ago, I took my cousin (who was born and raised in NYC) on the tour as a birthday gift. We both thoroughly enjoyed the tour. My cousin was unfamiliar with the meatpacking district and the Chelsea Market and was very impressed with the history and information provided by our guide, Darryl. The food was very diverse, but everything was wonderful. I would highly recommend both tours (both Greenwich Village and the Meatpacking/Chelsea Market).

The Chelsea Market tour with Curt was informative and entertaining. Curt is an incredible guide. He had us laughing from the start. The tour definitely wouldn't have been the same without his wit. On top of that, the food we tasted was very good, an excellent sampling from the different vendors. I highly recommend it!

Despite the fact the weather was cold and dreary, we had the best time on our tour. I attended with a much younger friend, the only male in our lively group. Our tour guide kept me totally entertained and I must confess I get bored very easily. The factoids about the area were interesting and the food samples were delicious and filling, no way to eat a meal after that. I highly recommend the tour and think it would have been just fine to go on your own if you don't have a conspirator to signup with.

Very exciting food tour!

This tour was great!! We were extremely fortunate to have Kurt as our tour guide. He knew everyone's name and talked personally with each of us, pointing out interesting facts and good food. He was well informed about the neighborhood, the food, and just good at what he did!! We sampled many different foods along the way and also learned the history of the people who prepared the food. Chelsea Market is a great place to shop for those special kinds of party foods, wonderful Italian delicacies, bakery items, great wine, and about anything you want to have a great time. Be sure and try the lobster bisque at the Fish Market. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the history of the neighborhood, to the foodies, and to those who just want to have a good time.

I enjoyed everything. One suggestion is to have the BIG delicious cookie closer to the end of the eating. I suggested to Kurt that we should receive a small plastic bag to put the cookie in if we wish to eat it later.

Truly a wonderful experience! More than enough food and great stories about the history of Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District. Loved it!
