Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour

Our family had taken the Greenich Village tour the day before which was very good but the Chelsea tour was a bit better..the food tastings had more selection and larger portions and the guide , Kurt, was just as good as Raheem. He made the tour funny and had a ton of knowledge about the food and the area. He also remembered everyones name which made it very personal and a great detail on his part. We all recommend the tour especially if your not familiar with the area.

My 13 year old son and I had a fabulous experience eating our way through Chelsea Market and touring the High Line Park and learning about the history of the Meat Packing District. My son was so enthused with the experience he insisted we return to the market and shop the stores we visited on the tour. I also heard him recommend to friends the wonderful restaurant where we had a tasting. This was my second Chelsea Market tour and I would not hesitate to take a third!

I would definitely recommend this tour. It was a great chance to see Chelsea market and the food was outstanding! Our tour guide was one of the best I have ever had.

My wife and I took our grandson (a fan of Food TV Network) on this tour. All 3 of us enjoyed it greatly. My wife and I travel all over the world. It is our passion. We have taken dozens of tours through groups like Viator, City Discovery, and other fine tours. I said to my wife that the tour of Chelsea Market & environs ranks in the top 3 of tours ever taken. My grandson absolutely adored the exprerience. The woman who conduted the tour kept it fast-enough paced so it did not lag, without compromising the experience. Her humor was wonderful . She connected well with the group. My wife and I have told others about this tour since taking it. They have noted it as a 'must-do' next time they are in the city. . On a scale of 1-10, we rank this a 15! Would we do it again with other friends? Absolutely! It was one of the real highlights of our time with our grandson in NYC. Thank you Food TV Network. John F. How could you not like this fun tour, full of information and full of food. Bob our tour guide was very pleasant, a bit hurried at times. I think the group makes or breaks the tour our group was ok somewhat quiet and did not interact much. My only suggestion would be to reverse the order and start by the outside area and end up in the market. I would have liked to shop more inside and never had the opportunity to return to the market when tour was over. started out with the sweets and ended with the big meal. Overall it was fun and i would be in for other tours.

Came across these food tours by accident. They had great reviews and since we were on a family trip, we were looking for something other than the typical 'bus tours'. We were interested in seeing Chelsea Market anyways so we thought this would be a good way to actually see the Market and the area. Our tour guide, Curt, was fabulous. He knew the names of all 16 of us before the tour even began. I had some specific food allergies and I told Curt that he didn't need to make any special accommodations for, but he did anyways, and I was really appreciative. We walked through High Line and ended with a delicious taste test in the Meat Packing District. Curt even arranged for a Happy Birthday treat for my daughter. I would definitely add this to your to do list.

We all got so much out of the tour with all the history of the area that we wouldn't have known if we just walked around ourselves. The tastings at each stop was great it gave us an opportunity to see and taste a little sampling of what they offered. We can't wait to explore another area with your company when we visit again soon.

We took the Chelsea Food Tour this year after taking the Greenwich Village one two years ago. These tours do not disappoint. Like others say, do NOT eat prior to the tour. In Chelsea Market, we enjoyed food from soup to bread to Australian meat pies and more, then visited restaurants in the Chelsea area, learning some interesting history about the newly revived area. We also visited the Highline, another great aspect of this particular tour. I suggest you review the restaurants listed for each tour, and pick according to your likes. This is a GREAT way to eat through NYC. Good for all ages!

We had a great guide (Bob). and felt that it moved at a good pace. There was less walking than I expected and it was nice to be mostly indoors as it was a hot day.
