Totally worth it!

Our tour guide (Curt) was great...very funny and very informative. The tour was about 3 hrs long and we didn't need to eat a meal afterwards. Plus, the food tastings were planned out like a meal (soup first, then appetizers, etc). My wife is allergic to walnuts and one of the other tour members was a vegetarian, so Curt went out of his way to make sure that they each had something that fit their dietary requirements. This was a great way to explore Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District. We loved it and highly reccomend it! Can't wait for our next trip to Manhattan to do one of the other tasting tours in other parts of the city!

Second tour we've done and we really enjoyed it

This was my husband's first walking food tour and my second (I did the Greenwich Village one a few years ago). Our tour guide, Kirt, was very funny and kept things interesting. My husband was worried he wouldn't get enought to eat, but in the end, he said he wasn't stuffed, just adequately full. I remember being STUFFED at the Greenwich one, but this was good--not too much or too little. And we are both pretty big eaters, I'm afraid. As it was mostly indoors, this is a great option during the winter months

We had a great time. I live locally and my friends were from out of town. We all had a wonderful time learning about the area and tasting the great food. I will definitely bring groups again on a tour like this and bring them to the area to explore the places I learned about while on the tour. Kurt the guide was full of information and very entertaining.

We had another great experience! This was our 3rd group tour and we love them. If you offered more tours, we'd go more often! It's a great way to sample new foods and explore new areas. A great suggestion for a group of people.

Our tour leader was so informative and very likeable. His name was Curt (Kurt) and he even did extra things to make our tour more enjoyable....and what a memory. He knew all 15 of us by name. The samples of food were very substantial and delicious. I wish we had something like that in our area.

This was our second Foods of NY tour--the first being the Greenwich Village tour in May. Sampson was our guide, and he was a joy to spend the afternoon with. The Chelsea Market is a true gem as is the entire ever-evolving Meatpacking District. We learned so much about the building, the vendors inside the market, and the whole area. The food tastings were wonderful and substantial. We even ventured to an area restaurant for an early dinner upon the recommendation of Sampson. We were VERY pleased. We will definitely include another tour in our next NYC visit.

LOVED it. Our tour guide really made it--going above and beyond--adding in interesting stories, insights, observations, facts--and going over the time to show us the amazing interiors of local restaurants. One drawback if you're going for lunch--it wasn't very food hearty -- lots of tastings -- but of tea, milk, jam, potato chips, gellato, a cookie, soup, and one stop with olives, cheese, and sliced meat.

Great Activity for Locals and Out-of-Towners

Samson enthusiastically led us on a tour through the Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District. We already live in NY but learned so much about the area that we didn't already know. Samson was very engaging, made time to answer questions, and never make you feel hurried. He was very personable and knew many of the store owners by name. The tour was a "sampling" of a lot of different restaurants but we were pretty stuffed by the time that it was over. I highly recommend visiting The Lobster Place and Sarabeth's for their delicious fare. It was a great way to spend Sunday afternoon. I hope to see Samson on a future tour!

This is the second tour I've taken with this company. My tour guide was the same both times and is excellent. Do this early in your trip if you can because you'll want to go back and visit and eat all the yummy places you visited! Happy eating!
