Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour

We were a group of five adults who live in Queens, New York and decided we wanted to enjoy our City as tourists. We had a really fun day and to see the changes in the area was unbelievable. Our tour guide Cindy was very informative and the sampling of the food was plentiful. All in all we had a very pleasant afternoon. Would recommend it to all.

This tour was exceptional! From the food served, the excellent organization of the tour to the extremely knowledgeable tour guide - it was Four Stars all the way! After taking this tour I plan to take all of the tours offered by Foods of NY. Being a native New Yorker, you don't learn this type of stuff from just living here... take the tour!

We loved this tour. There were four of us ranging from age 40-60. The market itself is super but having a guide to educate us made it all the better. Cindy was Super!!!! She was very organized, friendly and funny. We loved her! The tastings were great! We loved the "meat packing district" so much that we spent a couple of days there. We had dinner and wine at two of Cindy's recommendations. We also went back to the market and purchased food to cook dinner in our apartment one evening. We will be back and we will also recommend this tour to friends.

The entire experience was fantastic! I drove a cab in NY, and was still impressed with the depth and breadth of knowledge shown by our guide. She was enthusiastic, informative, fun, and highly attentive. A definite recommendation for natives, tourists, and even anyone visiting from New Jersey.

The tour was very worthwhile. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of the building and the surrounding area of Chelsea. Great tasing food! Cindy was an exceptional tour guide....and funny. My only semi-complaint would be to decrease the amount of time. It was a little long.

We did the Greenwich Village tour several years ago and when we knew we were going back to NY I looked the tours up again. It lived up to all expectations and everyone that went with us and that I had reccomended it too were also thrilled. The details our guide told us about the market and the foods were so interesting. And of course the food is unlike much of what we can get in Florida. Kurt, our guide, was great. He was funny and made the tour fun to go on and you didn't realize you were learning anything. From the first moment Kurt began our tour we knew we were in for an afternoon of fun. Little did we know just how delightful, informative, delicious, and entertaining it would be! Each tasting was more wonderful than the previous one; it would be impossible to pick a favorite. The history of the entire Chelsea and Meatpacking area was very interesting, and Kurt made it amusing as well. We highly recommended the tour to the others in our group and we will definitely return when we visit New York again.

My husband and I loved the tour -- he liked the historical references as to the history of the building (being a train buff). It was great to see an abandoned building restored to accommodate family owned business. The food was a real treat and Curt, our guide, was knowledgeable, humorous and considerate. It was a great way to learn about the neighborhood as well.

The tour was fantastic. Our tour guide, Curt, was so energetic and knowledgeable that he made this a real fun and tasty experience. He generated such positive energy that made the afternoon fly by. I would definitely encourage all my friends to participate. Thanks for the experience.
