| We really enjoyed our guide, Kurt. He provided us with food (lots of food) and good explanations of the area in a very entertaining way. Nothing like going on a food tour with a foody with a great sense of humour. We felt that the tour could have been a bit shorter, or perhaps less time in the Chelsea market and more time exploring the overall area. There was lots of time hanging around eating. The portions are very generous, and we felt absolutely stuffed by the end (although that didn't prevent us from having dinner). |

| Our tour guide, Kurt, was outstanding. If all your tour guides are this good it would be a pleasure to take any tour. He was very knowledgeable and very interesting to just talk to. I would take any of his tours!!! |

| This is the second tour I've taken with this company. My tour guide was the same both times and is excellent. Do this early in your trip if you can because you'll want to go back and visit and eat all the yummy places you visited! Happy eating! |

| The guide was fantastic.
We would have liked a few more sources to get history about the market as my daughter is writing a paper about it.
The outside part of the tour was not as good because even though we went into famous restaurants, we went right to the basement. |

| My wife and I both agree this was a worthwhile tour, and we would recommend it toanyone. Curtis, our tour guide, proved to be both knowledgeable and entertaining. We found the variety of foods to be about right. The quantity of food was enough that we did not bother to have dinner that evening. The tour of the meatpacking district introduced us to several restaurants that we'd like to try during another visit to New York, and the historical information provided a wealth of information on a part of the city that we are not very familiar with. |

| The Chelsea Mkt/Meatpacking tour was fun, informative, well paced and the perfect way to orient ourselves to this neighborhood, where, incidentally, we were staying while in Manhattan. It was a perfect mixture of food interest and history, so my fiancee and I both loved it. Our guide was organized, passionate about her subject, and lots of fun. I'm so glad we did it! |

| In our group of four, the oldest was 76 and the youngest 29. We had a wonderful time and the food we tasted was absolutely some of the best we have eaten in NY.
We would recommend this tour to anybody. Our guide was very informative and his sense of humor was the best. His name was Samson and he was originally from California. He helped make this experience even more enjoyable. Carolyn |

| As a former licensed tour guide, I am very critical of tours and tour guides.
Sampson did an excellent job as he educated us about the history and continuing development of the area. He was fun and personable, interjecting his information with well-presented stories and anecdotes to keep it interesting. No reciting memorized facts like a robot here! He used a nice conversational tone as if you were being shown around by an old friend.
The group size was good. I prefer fewer than 10, but I understand that's not always feasible. We were able to navigate through the area and within the shops with relative ease as well as be able to hear him when he spoke to us. I would imagine if Chelsea Market and the surrounding area had been more crowded (we went on a Sunday morning), it would have seemed like too many.
The pace of the tour allowed some opportunity to chat with the other tourists a bit during tastings. Discovering commonalities and getting to know each other made the tour even more enjoyable, feeling like we were all friends touring together.
Do not make the mistake of eating breakfast before you go! They were not exaggerating when they say you will have done enough tasting to skip lunch. Unless, of course, you are an extremely picky eater who doesn't love cookies, lobster bisque, antipasto, gelato and more! (Then again, why would you consider a food tour in the first place?)
I was not disappointed in the least. I was initially leery by the words "Meatpacking District." I was relieved that I didn't have to see parts of an animal I can still recognize hanging in a warehouse. Supposedly, there is opportunity to do so during the week, but not on a Sunday when I went so that worked out just fine for me.
My only regret (besides the bagel I ate on the way to meeting the tour!) is that we didn't learn about it early enough to book a tour at the beginning of our time in NYC. I would have loved to have had the time to fully explore Chelsea Market and try a couple of the recommended restaurants in the area. Oh well, next trip!
