Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour

Our guide made the tour so interesting. Aside from the fine samples and history of the foods and food merchants, our tour included a visual treat in the beautiful restrooms of Morimoto's Restaurant. Chelsea Market will definitely be a primary stop on my next trip to NYC.

The food was great and such an interesting guide who told local history and great information about each vendor. We especially enjoyed the Highline Park and the great weather.

The tour of Chelsesa Market was certainly a highlight during my trip to New York. Kurt was a fantastic guide which kept our group entertained and a lot more knowledgable about the history of Chelsea Market and the surrounding Meat Packing Disctrict. I attended the tour with a friend who has been living in New York for the last six years and she thoroughly enjoyed herself as well - in fact, she just told me she's telling all her friends about it! This a wonderful way to spend a few hours in the city....ENJOY!

Tour guide was energetic and animated. really enjoyed her work and was knowledgeable beyond the basic tour. Food samples were great. My wife liked the catfish sandwich at the end of the tour but it was a little exotic for my plain taste buds. Really liked seeing Del Posto and Morimoto's restaurants. Could you guys set up a sampling tour to some of the Iron Chef's restaurants? Any way to get a tour of the Kitchen areas above the Chelsea Market? Maybe have one of the Chef's give a talk? Overall, a great tour and a wonderful way to see Chelsea Market. Five Stars for the tour and the tour guide. Lou2007

The route was very active and funny ...and Kurt , our guide made his job with a lot of enthusiam and with lots of interesting information about the history of Chelsea market, the change of Meatpacking district and everytyhing in general ... a very nice way of visiting one of the coolest areas of NYC. This was my second Chelsea Market Food Tour - Diane was our tour leader this year and she was terrific - knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour is well organized and so informative, not to mention delicious! Very fun sampling the offerings from the best vendors.

Our guide, Kurt, met us right on time at the Chelsea Market--he made a real effort to remember and use all of our first names--and was amazingly successful. He really knew the area and told us many interesting things about it. He was very knowledgeable about all the establishments we visited (and there were quite a few), and made sure we all were enjoying ourselves, learning about the Market and meat packing district, and along the way eating lots of delicious food. When we met, it was raining and he said how lucky we were to have chosen this tour as the Market part was all inside--but he promised that by the time we came to the meat packing part, during which we walked outside, the sun would be shining and it would be a beautiful day--and he was right! We also visited several restaurants in the area which was great because we plan to visit Chelsea when next we're in NYC and now we know some good places to eat. Altogether a delightful day. We can't recommend the tour highly enough.

Great tour leader. Very knowledgeable and full of energy. Gave great tips on several subjects. Restaurants and shops were very interesting and the workers were extremely kind and helpful. Already recommended tour to friends who live in New Jersey and other friends who visit New York quite often. We will try other tours on our next visit.
