Chelsea Market/Meatpacking Dist Food Tasting Tour

We traveled to NYC with our 17 and 23 year olds........we had a blast on the tour!

We took the Greenwich Village tour last July and had a fantastic time with a fabulous tour guide, Cindy. So you can imagine how thrilled we were when our tour guide arrived and who should it be but Cindy! We knew we were in for a great time and we were not disappointed. You can keep the museums, monuments, etc and give us these terrific food and culture tours! I would like to add that I agree with one of the other reviewers (donnalley) that it might be nice to start at 10:30 outside and move inside later especially in high summer. I realize that this may not be possible since the crowds are probably larger later. However, if at all possible I think it would be nice to reverse the order.

This tour is a wonderful way to discover Chelsea Market and the surrounding area. You have access to nearly all of the shops and restaurants in the Market, behind-the-scenes tours of fantastic restaurants in the area and an introduction to the Meat Packing District. You will want to stay and explore the area after your tour!

This was a fabulous tour for many reasons. The food was delicious and our tour guide, Kurt, was phenomenal!!! He was very knowledgeable and hilarious too! We would definitely recommend this tour and will book another when we return to NYC.

Our tour guide, Sam, did a great job. He was enthusiastic, personable, and knowledgeable. However, I was expecting more food samples (especially from the higher end restaurants). It also seemed like we spent too much time inside the market, only to rush through the the neighborhood/restaurants. The tour ended very abruptly on top of a building that overlooked the neighborhood. No one seemed to know what the building was or why we were there other than for a bird's eye view. Again, Sam did a great job, but I think the tour was a little overpriced for what we got.

My wife's a foodie so I planned a surprise trip to Chelsea Market to take the guided tour. It far exceeded our expectations!!! We've told all our friends about the great time we had!!!

The tour guide had a delightful personality that kept the entire group engaged in the tour. She was able to share a great amount of information with the group in an interesting way. She was open to all questions from the group. I would highly recomend the tour to other individuals.

The tour worthed every penny paid, lot of tastings and amazing guide whom we learned a lot from about the history of this place and how it evolves. U must take it at the beginning of ur trip to nyc because u will definitly want to visit those places again.

This was my 4th tour with Foods of New York, and my second one of the Chelsea Market. As with the other 3 tours, it was just wonderful. Our guide, Cindy, was entertaining and kept us moving along without realizing we were moving along, the 3 hours just flew by. My sister and I were so full by the end of the tour we weren't sure if we were going to need to eat dinner. From start to finish, just a great way to spend an afternoon.

This is my third food tour with Food Tours of NY and I can't recommend them enough. Our guide, Cindy, was great from start to finish and had a great personality. The food was wonderful, as usual on these tours. We started out by eating our dessert first and worked our way backwards towards the entree. I have never been in Chelsea or the Meat Packing district, and this tour gave us so much of the history of the area. I've learned so much from all the guides about the areas that the tours are in and it was no different this time. Next time I'm in NY, I'm going to take my sister back for this tour, she'll love it!
